me, not a lot. for the entire baseball season i've watched maybe 5 m's games and nothing else. probably won't watch any of the playoffs at all, unless a world series game is played on the weekend.

college football i watch bits and pieces of big regular season games, most of the major bowl games, and all televised washington games. NFL i watch every seahawks game and most of the other televised games, unless shitty teams are involved or it's a blowout.

that's about it.

I watch just about every Yankee game during the course of the season and my Saturdays and Sundays are devoted to football during football season. So, a lot.

Hardly any. If I don't have anything else to do, I'll watch the Red Sox or Pats game. But that's not really very often. And I watch the Superbowl pretty much every year.

Spartan

at least two sunday nfl games and most of the monday game in a given week. then i watch nearly every televised NFL game from thanksgiving on into the playoffs.

college...no telling. probably 3-4 games a week, but so many bits and pieces and highlights of others. same for college basketball. i probably saw only twenty braves games in full this year.

nascar, depends on when in the season. i haven't watched a race in full (and even that was part) since august and likely won't for the rest of the season. just don't give a shit once football comes around. F1, every practice, quals, and race on TV i've watched.

I watch a stupid amount of sports. It has cost me two relationships in the past and may be costing me a third. I watch lots of football, pro and college. I currently work evenings so I dont watch as much as I want to, but when I didnt work nights I watched a ton of basketball and hockey games. I would watch every Braves game that was on TV and I did venture to bars to watch the ones that were only on satellite.

For some reason, this doesnt sit well with most women.

too much.

i haven't had a productive sunday during football season since i was in middle school or so. watch the pats all the way through and the other televised games if they're good. watch monday night a lot more now than i used to.
college, same idea. notre dame and whatever's good.
catch at least part of just about every red sox game, usually including the end. i've watched the playoffs pretty closely thus far.
watch college basketball a lot. nba not at all.
about 20 bruins games a year, too.

I watch 4-6 basketball games per week when it's on, about the same for football. They both have to come 2nd to work and other unpleasant realities, though. I don't care much for other sports. I may watch a bit of the Olympics when they are on.
My wife enjoys watching basketball but not football (except for UW games). This means I often have to give her a footrub when I want to sit and watch a football game. She gets hers, I gets mine. Yes, I'm whipped, but I still watch a lot of football.

SPORTS SPORTS SPORTS

can never get enough... ever

i watch at least two college games every saturday, a handful of bowl games, all three nfl games on sunday, monday night football, pretty much every nfl playoff game, as many bulls games as i can, and as many nba playoff games as i can, as many whitesox games as i can, the occaisonal cubs game, almost all of the mlb playoffs, and sometimes the stanley cup playoffs if i have nothing better to watch.

i like sports

I watch just about every Yankee game that they air on the Baltimore network, ESPN and FOX. If the cable is not connected, I listen to radio.

I also watched just about every highlights of every game of World Cup 2006. Cannot wait til 2010.

Basically, I enjoy sports

when i have a T.V., every single angels game, every single non-overlapping mets game, every giants game in the NFL, one additional NFL game on sunday, then the monday night game, then once a month, maybe half a college football game, and during the basketball season, about a game a week...two if i can catch the celtics in there at all...so, a fuckload of sports. oh, and i watch preseason baseball and football when it is on T.V.

thecapecoddah
10-04-2006, 06:55 PM
I try to catch at least some of every red sox and patriots game, including pre-game and post-game discussion & interviews

I occasionally watch celtics games... bruins rarely but I'll watch 'em every now and then.

college sports isn't huge at all in these parts, so I typically only catch college football games at bars and whatnot. I still love college basketball though, and try to catch the big matchups and the ncaa tournament of course.

any good nfl matchups; usually not the whole game though

I don't watch sportscenter as often these days, but I try to catch the sports on the evening news or whatever

and I've listened to boston sports radio basically every day for the past year and a half :-$

As much NHL hockey and football (NFL, CFL, college) I can get. MLB and NBA I don't really get into until the postseason, but I'll watch them if I can't find anything else. They're good to have on in the background. EPL soccer on Saturday mornings. NASCAR and F1 (not usually whole races, but I dip in and out). The golf and tennis majors, Triple Crown horse races, the NCAA basketball tournament, some boxing, the odd track meet or World Cup ski race that comes on, and the big every four years stuff like the Olympics and the World Cup.

In short, I'll pretty much watch anything but curling. Sports probably make up about two-thirds of what I watch on TV.

thecapecoddah
10-04-2006, 07:25 PM
ahahah curling is great. I also watch more winter olympic events compared to summer events.... competitive track & field, swimming, etc. are just a bore to me.

and yes, triple crown races too :bang:

I watch as much as I can, but I don't have cable, so I don't watch that much. I watch all the Patriots games, and as many Red Sox games as I can. As for other sports, I'll watch the Celtics or the Bruins if I can have the games. I can't really watch baseball unless it's a team that I care about, so I'll only watch the national games if it's a great pitching matchup or AL East teams are playing. I try to watch a couple of college football games a week and at least one other pro football game. I'll watch college basketball when it's on. I try to catch the Triple Crown. And I love watching track and field and swimming. I'll watch as much of the Olympics as I can.

no red wings? :(

as for me... pretty much any playoff game in any sport, just about all red wings and tigers games (although i don't live in the area anymore, so this could be difficult), the red sox whenever they're on tv here (and oftentimes on mlb.tv when i can), occasional pistons games (never really got too hardcore into the nba to really care a lot), two or three sunday football games if i'm not working (if i am, i'll catch parts of them), misc. baseball games, march madness...

i like sports.

i like watching the highlights of games i go to to get perspective on things that i might not notice from the bleachers, and just because i love to see how a play looks in person, vs. how it looks on television.

My ex actually liked baseball more than I did. I almost never watch a baseball game in its entirety, will usually flip back and forth, or have it on mute while I'm playing cards.

I will watch entire UGA/Cowboys/UConn games, and the last hour or two of golf majors. But overall, I'm watching less and less every year, which is a good thing.

Mike
10-04-2006, 09:30 PM
any of the few a's games that i can see on tv, i watch, and tape if i can't.

while the playoff games are during the day now, i've taped the games and watched them when i get home.

as for hockey, i watch as many of the oilers' 78 or so televised games that i can.

cfl... i watch whatever games i can when my team is playing but it's not a huge priority, especially this year.

as for other sports, rarely any nfl. i'll usually watch whatever baseball game is on if it's at least worth watching, and hockey games a little less so because they're on all the time.

Andy
10-04-2006, 09:44 PM
Bears games are a top priority when I'm home. I do watch other NFL games and the end of Sunday Night Football after Family Guy (this past Sunday being the obvious exception). I watch some college games, the Cubs when they don't suck as bad, the White Sox from time to time, and the Bulls when I remember to.

Gabbo
10-04-2006, 11:03 PM
i try to catch the 3 or 4 nfl games i get a weekend and bits and pieces of college games that are on. i watch some rangers games if i want to see them lose and i've been watching more mlb games now because of the playoffs, of course. and during basketball season i try to watch every mavericks game or at least however much i can and random college games that are on. i really only keep up with the stars during playoff time...i kinda lost interest in hockey after that lockout season. but when i'm bored and just flipping channels i'll pretty much watch any kind of sports that are on...yes this does include competitive darts on espn (though probably not a sport)

I try to watch as much NFL as I can, we get about 4 games per week. The first Sunday game starts at 3am local time, so I don't always watch that, but definetly watch all the others. last season my TV was getting 2 NBA games per week, so I would watch that, I think there may be more broadcast this year which will be good.

The only sport I watch is football. Also known as soocer.
But I usually just watch the world cup and other big championships, though.

The mayor of Albuquerque
10-05-2006, 08:10 AM
Ah, championships. Even for sports I don't like such as baseball and hockey, I love to watch the very end of whatever sort of championship they have. I think that title winning moment is just about the best part of all sports. Even better when it's a team playing at home.

Jason

Sports are pretty much all I watch on TV. Seriously sports is my life. I probably watched just about every Blue Jay game that was televised. When I'm lucky enough to get an A's game I definetly watch that. Sunday I watch the NFL. Usually 2 games that day. Now that the NHL is back I'll probably watch atleast a game or two a day. Basketball I usually catch some games during the season, but I watch it a lot more during the playoffs. When I'm not watching games I'm usually watching ther sports updates or whatever they have on our sports channels.

Less now that I have HD. The analysts and hosts and people like that. Damn they're ugly. Any you guys check out Jeannie Zalasko (sp?) before Yanks/Tigers game 1? Oh my Lord. Her makeup/warddrobe person should be canned for that affair. HD only made it worse.

when the olympics are on i can watch it all day long, and i dont mind soccer, but i only watched the australian matches in the world cup this year because the games were at 11pm, 1am and 3am. Other than special events, i watch NRL and tennis.

saturday and sunday during football season are spent watching games pretty much all day. directtv especially has made sundays awesome.

also watch a ton of nba games, and can always find a college basketball game to watch.

baseball season...watch couple of games a week.

in closing way too much time watching sports.

the 'house always wins

:bang:
10-08-2006, 03:58 PM
watch every steelers game. last game i missed was the first three quarters of the steelers/texans game in december of 2002. it was my grandma's wake (and a horrible crapfest of a game)

i also try and catch another 1-2 nfl games a weekend, usually while doing something else

i try and catch penn state, but dont go nuts if i dont. not all of their games are on here anyway

maybe 1-2 wiz games a week, mostly after football season is over

usually 1-2 epl games a week. dvr newcastle matches

pens when they are on here, maybe 8 a year

so yeah...too much

i'm a sports fan paradox... as in i enjoy sports, but don't really care to talk about them that much.

baseball, college football, college basketball, nba, nfl (though i enjoy college better), and in limited but interested amounts of golf and tennis. i'll watch any large world event if it captures my attention.
