Anyone else have it, and play it? It's probably my favourite out of the series, but only because of the huge number of building varieties available. What I'd like for future Sim City games is even more buildings, but also the ability to somehow tailor neighbourhoods to fit into a certain mold, kinda thing. I want to be able to have a bummy district in my town, that's reserved for bums without being polluted. It's kinda possible to acheive in Sim City, but I want total control. Anyway, here are some screens of my most random, but also largest city. Post yours.

i used to absolutely love SimCity. I'd spend hours on end playing it. I had simcity classic, simcity 2000, simcity 3000 and im pretty sure simcity 4 is on my laptop. i rarely play it anymore though. 2000 was da bomb.

Bah, I've always liked 3000 more than 2000. More buildings, better transport options.
I lost 2000, I hate myself for it. Instead of having a good game, for some reason I have this crap like Streets of Sim City, Sim Copter, Sim Ant, Sim Isle and Sim Tower.

I had 3000, very very entertaining.
4 I recall is now out under a budget label in most nations, so could be worth getting.
yeah, 4 was a budget buy here, thats why my brother got it.

Isn't it about time Maxis come out with a new SimCity game? I mean SimCity 4 is like what, 4 years old now? SimCity 2000 was my favorite game when I was a kid btw. I think it was even the very first computer game I ever played.

4 has always been a good way to kill an hour or so. I had some of the earlier ones, but I don't remember much of them.

2000 was one of the first games I remember getting when we got a CD-ROM drive. Love, love, loved it.
Although, am I the only one who doesn't have any fun unless they're using a money cheat code? I don't know, I guess I just find my enjoyment based on designing the city, and not worrying about taxes and funding and crap.

yeah i'd always use the money cheat code, and also the code that unlocked all the buildings etc. it was much more fun building a city when you had everything available with unlimited money.

The whole point of Sim City, to me, was not to be some crappy financial simulator or whatever, but to be a cool sandbox to build a city in. For that reason, I've always used the money cheats. It's just no fun without em.

The Sims and Sim City aren't fun unless there is the money cheat code. With both games, making the city/house is fun, but maintaining it sucks.

I have Sim City 2000 and 3000. I remember playing 2000 when I was about 10 and being fascinated by it. I bought 3000 a few years ago, and I started to get really good at it, then I stopped playing it, for some reason.
As for Sim City 4, I have played it, but I couldn't really get into it for some reason. I'll probably find it in a bargain bin somewhere and end up playing it to death.

I haven't played SimCity in years, I ought to.
i too always used the money cheat in 2000, then had a great time planning a really well laid out city that ended up filling the whole map. Thats when you realise there's nothing left to do other than set every possible disaster upon an unsuspecting simulated megatropolis.

I always used to run into that problem, but because 3000 and 4 were a bit more complicated, they allowed for you to go into your older cities and tailor them to being a bit better. Like improving the layout of your CBD, or putting different styled areas in and crap. That rests on the idea that you didn't just zone everything as dense zones and then click it to African Swallow...
