Anyone ever heard of this band? They're another videogame music cover band, but they play in heavy-metal style. I like them better than Minibosses because they expand on the original melodies instead of playing them note-for-note. Plus they rock. All of their music is free for downloading, which is the best part. My favorite songs of theirs are all the Mega Man songs, Super Mario Bros., and the Bionic Commando and Contra suites.

P.S. Not 100% sure if this belongs here or in the videogame thread, but since it's a musical band, I'll put it here.

It's pretty much where I got hooked up with many a great video game music cover bands. But I digress.

Anywho, about The NESkimos: I can appreciate their take on classic songs, and I do like some of their stuff...but they're just too...distorted/metally for my liking. I much prefer the more relaxed stylings of The Advantage and The Minibosses. But I am such a sucker for any VGM cover band, really.

I just realized I'm missing both Advantage albums from my computer. Must've been wiped when my computer was in the shop awhile back :'( Honestly, I thought I still had 'em...

So I'm calling out to you: If anyone can up those two albums for me, I would be forever grateful. Make it happen :thumbsup

Well shit, that sucks. Music aside they had some really accurate tabs available there too. Oh well :/

I'm another that prefers the Minibosses and the Advantage over these guys, but they do a damn fine job as well. Their TMNT arrangement in particular is awesome.

They're really good! Plus a lot of the songs are from MM II and MM III, my all time favorite NES game music!

^ Agreed. Matter of fact, they're working on a CD for Mega Man 2's entire soundtrack, as soon as they finish the other 2 albums they're working on.
