there are thousands of speed runs on youtube... post the best ones here. this could be a pretty cool thread.

i'll start. here's super mario world beaten in 12 minutes. the first boss is hilarious.

YouTube doesn't seem to have it but Red Scarlet's 100% speed run of Super Metroid is nearly perfect and is the one I've been trying to do for a long time. Done in 0:55 minutes. Closest I can get is 1:03...but I lurve it. Especially the Kraid trick, it's so fun.

Even though it's edited, it's still fun to watch. You can't go from world 1 to world 7 with only 2 whistles. You need 3 whistles for that.

is that a legit run, though (the TMNT one)? i swear it seemed like he should have died a few times under water (getting hit by those electric waves took more life, if i recall correctly), plus he was making some jumps that i remember trying over and over again to make and deciding they were impossible (like jumping up through the hole in the floor so you don't have to go all the way around).

something just seemed fishy about it.

It's more than likely an emulator which was tweaked to the gamer's liking to cheat (damn cheaters). That, or whoever played it is better than and pwns all of us :\

One thing that does seem fishy is how easy it is to beat Rocksteady in the beginning. Even with the trick of using Don's bo and swinging down from the top of the boxes, it used to take me forever to beat him, and here he only takes a few hits before being defeated. Eh.

Electrified seaweed seems legit, though...now I want to play this. Gragh.

i mean the electric surges that go on and off more than the seaweed. i thought getting hit by those took a ton of life, but this guy was getting hit by them every time and barely took any damage.
