The demo is up on the XBL Marketplace, and I gotta say, although it's a complete GTA knock-off, it's the best GTA knock-off I've palyed. It's also the closest game to resemble GTA as well, which is probably why it's the better than the others. The game is not fantastic or anything, but once you get the hang of the driving and the controls it gets fun. The rag doll physics rock, I got hit by a van and was sent flying and it just looked awesome. I'm really anxious to play the final version now, but if anything, this demo got me excited at the possibilities of the next GTA on the 360.

It feels solid in terms of control but I actually hate it. The play area is bland and characterless and the demo is severely lacking in imagination, wit or creativity. It doesn't feel like a real, dynamic world in the way the GTA games do, and even messing around just doesn't feel anywhere near as fun. Basically I think it's generic tosh.

I agree with most of what you said, but the flaws didn't really lessen the fun for me. You're dead on with the play area, but it is a demo, so I can only imagine it getting better on the release. Just take a look at the map of the entire world in the pause menu and you'll see there's lots of room for fun...so hopefully they take advantage of it. Like I said, it's another GTA clone, but to me it feels like what GTA3 (specifically) would have been on a next gen system. They do take a lot from the GTA games, and that's kinda why I like it.

I was playing a little bit more after my post and it was just funny to see people slide out their windsheilds (me included) when they crashed with rag doll physics. I really hope the game dosn't stop with what's in the demo, because it could be really good if they play more on what's shown and hinted at.

I downloaded it too. Dissapointed. The only thing good about it are the ragdoll physics; the minigames aren't bad; but the game overall sucks. Lifeless world, really, and it's just not that fun. Better than True Crime, yes, but GTA is best.

I picked this up yesterday. Sadly, the game dosn't really expand much on what's in the demo, but the biggest problem I have with the game is how bland the city is. Even so, it's a pretty amusing take on GTA for the next gen systems. They added in multiplayer too, which isn't anything special, but pretty fun nonetheless.

you saved me a purchase. I still plan to rent it, but now I can go in another direction.

any idea how many hours it plays single player?
