A couple of friends have believed for years that Lisa uses a major expletive in one of the fourth season episodes - not once, but twice.

Episode: Homer the Heretic (#9F01)

A few minutes in, when the family returns home from church and greets Homer, he asks how they went. While all three family members reply at once, Lisa appears to say "F***, get f***ed".

Now, while I know The Simpsons is a little classier than this and I don't personally believe she would have actually been scripted to say anything of the sort, it does sound for all the world precisely like it, and I'm unable to determine what she might actually have said ("Fine, just fine" doesn't really fit).

Have Googled around but there doesn't appear to be any reference to it anywhere, including the snpp.com database.

Does anyone have this episode available for viewing and could perhaps clarify this for a curious fan?

Thanks

Haha I know what you mean. I just went and watched it and it sounds like she says 'Get fucked, fuck.' Obviously she doesn't but I have no idea what she's actually trying to say. Seeing as Marge just makes noises and Bart mumbles something inaudibly I presume they adlibbed it.

The DVD subtitles say "Fun, just fun".

I now believe this to be Lisa's worst characterization ever.

you think they really meant for her to say 'fuck'? :uhh:

the reason it probaby sounds a bit strange is because yeardley was more than likely supposed to put on a voice of lisa as if she had a cold. remember they were stuck in the freezing car and church for a while? that's probably why the 'fun' sounded like 'fuck'.

Re-watching that on DVD was amusing, but she obviously doesn't say it.

if lisa really did say fuck the fcc would have finned fcc and the syndicators who aired that episode

I just watched it and it doesn't sound anything like "fuck" And the DVD subtitles on mine didn't say fun. It's just a shudder.

Hey, does anybody remember the episode where Lisa tells Grampa to , and I quote, "go fuck yourself, you old bastard"? I think it was in season 13.

Does Lisa drop the "F" word in "Homer The Heretic" (9F01) shortly after arriving home from church in response to Homer saying something like "Ah my beloved family, welcome home"?

Merged the thread so you can see past comments on this. Though Heub's explanation sounds the most likely to me.

There's no such line in season 13, or anything close that I can think of. The closest line I can come up with is "Go to hell, you old bastard" in "Rosebud".

Where's that poster who knows EVERYTHING about every joke when you need him? It's been a while since I've been here, but that man has major skills.

I doubt it would've gotten past the censors. Seems to me if Lisa really did drop the F-bomb in "Homer the Heretic", there would've been some kind of outcry long before now.

My subtitle's say fun, just fun, although lisa speaks without pausing much at hte first coma, as if she were about to sneeze, which supports the lisa having a sort of cold from the church theory.

It was a joke.
We know, just not a very good one.

I seriously doubt she's saying 'fuck', but I can see how you'd think that. It does sound pretty similar.

I actually watched that episode yesterday. It sounded like 'f.uck', but I'm sure she meant other thing

It was a joke.

Well I guess that makes a little more sense.

Anyway, the question has been answered so closed.
