I know it's the 10th July, but it was ready.

First, lets thank Nick Wright for his help! This is what I like to call a NickofTime-AwwLilMaggie co-production.
With this one, I went for a new colour scheme. It's still purple, but we put a little more pink into it. I thought that the colours used since version 6.1 were wearing out, so I went with this.
If you look at the header as you browse, you'll notice that it changes, there is 5 different headers which display randomly, 4 of those headers are from my fic, The Simpson Twins, the last one is from a standard episode Home Sweet Home-Diddily-Dum-Doodily.
And no, Multi Talk 2 will not adopt the new colours. I've tried them on Multi Talk 2 and it didnt look as it did on TCB vIX.
Read the update on the site for the full story. ;)

Looks great with the exception of the rotating headers. The only one I think really looks good is the picture of Maggie sleeping.

That's insane good. I wish I could design. And being one of the few sites with scripts kicks ass too :)

Takes an incredibly long time to load for me - I'm not sure if it's the host, but maybe fewer images on the front page?
Interesting design, with a tasteful integration of the advertisements; I'm not sure about the color, but it works, and you get a lot of mileage out of the different Maggie poses/versions. Nice work. I would say try to focus on page layout, now, since that still seems a bit weak.

Same opinion here :ashamed:
That's really nice Gary! Great job!

It's sharp. The new slogan is lame. The site-links are nicely done. The 8 or 9 Maggies you used look nice, which is surprising for their small size. What program did you use to re-size?
^For those who don't know, the site slogan "To Live and Diaper In Springfield" was the title of Simpsons Comics #35. Not surprising that it's the slogan, as it's a Maggie-centric story.

EXCELLENT! DUDE THAT ROCKS
i agree with what most have said so far. i am not a fan of the rotating header; however, i'm conflicted on which one looks the best (which is probably the same problem you had... i've had it before too)
i never realized how much content you've put on this site. the new design shows it all off very nicely. great work.

I like it. The colors blend well and as Tim said, the front page really shows off the content well.

Probably both. They're all PNG's because I'm an idiot who forgot to convert all the images to GIFs. <slaps self>

It's not new, its been there since version 6.1

Macromedia Fireworks MX 2004 (8 sucks IMO), the program I do all my designs in.

And I didnt realise that until a few months later, the person who thought it up, NickofTime did. :P
Still, I liked it.
For everyone else, thanks for your comments.

My God, it's beautiful! No really. I never thought someone coulda make such a great, big site about such a li'l girl. It's very comfortable, easy2read and such and such. I like everything in this ver. of design (well, I didn't see any of previous), favorite!

Look really nice, Gary. I don't like the newspaper header or the chalk outline (why an obsession with Maggie being dead?), but the others are nice. You have an incredible amount of content for a character site, especially about a character who could be considered fairly minor. If that Key to Springfield site you're working on is anything like this, it'll be great.
The design also took a very long time to load for me (I was using dialup but it still seemed long). It looks like you're using all different types of images - GIF, PNG and JPEG. According to Opera there are 93 images on the home page, which is more than necessary. Even your image viewer has 35 images - image viewers should have a very simple design. By the way, you can use an indexed colour palatte with PNGs, like GIFs use, which makes them smaller.

They're to do with my fanfic, The Simpson Twins (http://babysimpson.co.uk/index.php?page=twins), which is a story like Stand by me, Lisa tells a story about living with Maggie up until her death. The only one that isnt from the fic is the Maggie sleeping one, which is from Home Sweet Home Diddily Dum Doodily.

When it comes to KTS's design I have nothing to do with it, thats all Nick, and I think he's nearly complete, but I cant be certain. I'm doing the content.

Hmm... The headers are JPG because there's so much detail with that overlay effect, and the rest are PNG's, because, like an idiot, I forgot to remove the header to slice them as GIF's. Even so, I selected all the images in my local folder and all the PNG's totalled 287KB, but I supose you're right with 73 of them, it does go a bit far.

At first, I didn't like it. I thought it was very bland and missing something. Then I looked a bit closer at the detail and I really like it. I feel like the header could you something more to it, but overall it's very nice. Much better than previous designs.

Yep, I saw it, think this one's the best! By the way, ya got a thumbs chaos in the wallpapers section.
Yeah and on the one with the animations from Maggie The Game it has the old design, and there's error messages at the top of the page. (Not the actual page that has a list of the animations, but on the page that has the animations themselves)
EDIT: I didnt find anything wrong with the thumbs in the wallpapers section ???

Oh that. Yeah. I forgot to change those pages from v8.1 to vIX. The error is a PHP error because I used PHP includes for the navigation to make my life easier when I wanted to add more sections to the navigation since you cant embed flash with the same PHP Include like you can with images. I'll fix that ASAP.
I had a look at the wallpapers and now im using your "who said iPods *suck, suck*?" one.
