It's summer, and amusing diversions are fun. Granted, I should probably working on SW more, but I'll be starting that soon, and I think bringing back ICH would be fun. So here's the question - does anyone actually have an interest in it coming back, or if does still exist somewhere, who do I have to ask for permission to use the name and fully relaunch the site? I have no idea who currently has a hold of it. Just putting that out there if anyone knows.

I guess I'd like to see it back, but didn't it die last time because they got about 5 submissions a month?

I really think it is a good idea and I would like to see it return. It's just that there's problems like stupid submissions, and having to register to submit captions isn't the best, but it'd still be fun to see and I'd try to take part this time.

I always liked ICH, I'd like to see it come back for a while.

at last memory, dan had ownership of it at http://www.dancing-jesus.com but he's shut it down since. there were like three quality submissions a month, but to be fair, the site wasn't terribly hyped.

i'd ask him. he had some script set up that automated the whole process and he had a ton of archives. check the forum that's installed there for his email.

its the kind of thing that doesnt need to be its own site, but keeps returning that way just because that's how its been setup in the past. add it as a subsection of springfield weekly and it might have more longevity in it and it'll boost visitors to your site too.

It's been statistically proven that there is absolutely no way to get people to come to my site, so that's not really a concern... but you have a point. Would be nice to resuscitate the brand for a bit, but it's not essential

I'd like to see it return, I've always enjoyed visiting ICH.

I'd like to see it up again. It always seemed to have more success when it was a subdomain of SW

It's main audience seemed to be the community. If you can make it popular to others then it would work.

i'll ask dan about it if you want, eric.

i remember back when it was at justdohit.co.uk, there were loads and loads of submissions, and not only from people in the community (i think) but since then it just wasnt getting popular.

so yeah, dan has no interest and could even give you everything, depending on how you want it ran. by that, i mean it was most recently in database format, with user registration and stuff.

other than that, ive got a folder full of stuff like the archives, old designs etc. these are very badly organised but thats how they were when mako send me the zip. i could zip them up and send them to whoever.

It needs the support of an already popular site. Just D'oh It, though it's slipped into obscurity with the newer crowd, was enormous; it still gets more hits than the majority of sites. It would work well in the games section of LETS.

i guess, but im sure adam doesnt want to be running something else aswell as the stuff he's got going on. only thing i could think would be if they simply used LETS (or another big site) for it's sub/domain name + hits, as mentioned.

The working plan is I put it up as part of a relaunched/revamped SW; I have a lot of old archives, too, hopefully, and there's a lot of stuff on archive.org, but yeah, kane, talking to dan about setting it up (with no user registration, but with the database compiler) and sending me over the zipped stuff would be a tremendous help.

ok, well i found the code, i'll give it the once over to make sure there's no mistakes and to make sure you dont get hacked to shit with it.

not for me, to those who mentioned it. i'm questioning the future of my existing 'contests' right now. am however looking for automated replacements for what would otherwise be a bare 'interactive' section.

No, he just chose an amusing user title. If he was banned he would have his name striked out.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he's not actually banned. The user title has been like that for while.
