okay, here's how it's going to work: first come, first serve. the first 16 members who say they're in, are in. we've already had some interest in the fifa world cup thread, so those members are already in. i will draw your names from a hat and then a team from a seperate hat. you will be given 2 teams, if your team wins, you get the satisfaction of being a winner. trust me with this, i won't cheat or anything, the teams drawn for different members will be completely random.

I just had a look at those FIFA rankings, what a farce they really are. Mexico and USA in the top 5? Nigeria, Cameroon, Egypt and Japan ahead of Germany? FIFA are a bunch of nobs. Doesn't help that Scotland are between Zambia and Uzbekistan :-$

I decided to work out a little table based on both of the performances by everyone's teams. I awarded 1 point for the team that statistically finished last and so on until Italy received 32 points. I based the positions on what round the teams got to, then goal difference in that round, then goals scored in that round, then points in previous round. If a team was still equal, they would be awarded the mid-point of the two places. For example, if they finished equal last both teams would be awarded 1.5 points. These were the points I awarded to each team:
