What'd everybody do for mothers day? what did you give your mum, and for the mums we have here, what did you recieve?

My mum tends to go out randomly anywhere between a week and a month before mothers day and find something for herself. This year it was jewelry. So that was the gift, i got her favourite flowers and a block of her favourite chocolate, plus did the other mother's day type things, doing all the household-y things she norrmally would. A good time was had by all.

My mom always tells me not to buy her anything expensive. So I just got her a card and this small desktop fountain thing that you can put little candles in since she lights candles all the time

Got reservations to take her to the best damned steakhouse in all of Tucson. She loves prime rib, I love BBQ ribs, it's a winning combination!

my mom doesn't really like it if i spend too much on her, so i just got her one of those scented candles since she likes those so much, as well as a humorously cheesy card.

the scented candle is what i get her when i can't think of anything else, so basically i've gotten her a candle every year for the last three or four years. but she doesn't mind, so it works for me.

I hate Mother's Day and Father's Day. So hard to get them something.

I'll probably make her my annual grilled cheese that she never eats. Then we'll take her out to Cracker Barrel which is her favorite. Card, DVD, and a cake.

I made her a mix cd and my sister and I got her a gift certificate for a manicure.

I don't want anything from my kids until they are old enough to buy me something tasteful. ;)

My older boy always makes me something himself.

I told him that someday I expect a bad ass MOM tattoo - now that's a gift I'll treasure.

My baby started walking really well yesterday, so that's my present from him.

My mother passed away March 15, 2001 after struggling with diabetes, which gave her a minor stroke, retinoplasy, bitten kidneys and congestive heart failure.

When my brother's sign language interpreter took me home Friday, she was listening to a soul music station that was playing songs dedicated to mothers and I had a maor crying jag-I think of my mom I get weepy, but this is the first time in 5 years that I completely 'lost it.'

What makes this worse is that I was born on Mother's Day, 1962. I get antsy on this day, but somehow I manage to get through it.

I hope y'all have a better Mom's Day-I don't want to talk anymore about this; I'm starting to 'well up.'-SBBED .D

I went to Borders yesterday and got my mom a $20 gift card. I also worked at the Italian restaurant I work at for their annual "Mother's Day" brunch from 8 AM to 4 PM. I am SO glad I have tomorrow off because I am tired and beat as fuck.

had a nice brunch with the fam... got her a card and paid for the tip.

that's all that was expected, since my bro and I got the folks a sweet home audio system a month ago for their anniversary.

Sis' and I split the bill at the steakhouse, too. $50 each. Still well worth it.

I bought my Mom bamboo this year...that's what she wanted. The little card attached to it says that it would bring luck (3 = happiness, 5 = health, 7 = wealth, 8 = prosperity) There were 7 bamboo sticks neatly packaged in a vase with gravel around it, so I hope at least we'd be happy, healthy, and wealthy! :D

My Mom liked it a lot :)

we took mom, grandma and a great aunt out to brunch. i worked my way into a few wills, so i expect to inherit some lovely doilies and faded pictures of people i don't know, any time now. later, mom, dad and i went to see m:i:iii. my brain self-destructed after 5 seconds.

Season 3 of Law and Order SVUnothing says "i love you, mom!" like stories about rape.

unless you say it by taking your mom to see "united 93" like we did. she had been wanting to see it, and she was the one who picked it out. i guess she felt like being depressed. afterwards, we took her to a local italian restaurant that she likes. i got her a DVD and a box of her favorite chocolates, and my little brother got her a gift card to the movie theater she always likes to go to.
