FUCK

six page paper, full digital portfolio and art history test for tomorrow. i have five and a half hours to get those done and prepare for the test. then a ridiculous huge final project due the day after tomorrow plus working the night after tomorrow means i'll be up at least 24 more hours, worst case scenario about 43 hours from now plus the 15 hours i've been working today = almost 60 hours straight of needing to be alert and working

i mean if it was just studying for tests i could blow that off, you know ?

projects are balls, fuck school

how about yall

- 10 page research paper + 3 page annotated bibliography
- 8 page paper on the plague
- 5 page paper on anne moody's "coming of age in mississippi"
- 5 page paper on macbeth
- in-class final exam in u.s. history: 5 short essay questions and one 6 page essay on the cold war, without notes
- in-class final exam for american studies: 40 multiple choice and one 5-6 page essay on ragtime or immigration (small crib note sheet allowed)
- in-class final exam for european history: 6 page essay on topic to be assigned on final's day, 3-5 page take-home essay due day of exam on reformation, 3 paragraph-length identification questions

all of that was or is due between may 1st and this coming thursday. most of it was unassigned until late april. on top of that, i am across the country, and struggling to make my stuff fit into all of my bags so i can fit it all on my flight, and i still have to ship home 2-3 boxes worth of stuff BEFORE i leave, and then travel 2 1/2 hours to the airport first thing thursday morning. i won't be studying for most any of the in-class finals stuff, but the non-school related shit is nagging me. fuck school indeed.

now is as good a time as any to use my own smilie/thing:

The only final exam that's going to be hard for me is my world civ exam. She actually expects us to define/identify terms and write answers/essays, which I am way horrible at. The plus is she gives us a tiny note card, and I write tiny, so yay. The rest of my exams are gonna be easy multiple choice exams on paper (Japanese and art history/appreciation), then one on computer for computer science. For the same class, I'll have to build a super simple web page w/ frames from scratch, which will be cake. This whole week is finals week, but the hard exam isn't until Thursday (one test each day of the week for me 'cept Friday), so w00t.

- 5 page paper on family relationships
- 3 page paper on racial discrimination
- 50 question multiple choice final for sociology (should be simple)
- zoo lab final in which we go around and look at different slides/organisms/random other shit and have to identify what it is
- 35 question short answer zoology final (i'll probably study for an hour or so)
- 8 page paper over the effects of music
- 100 question multiple choice test for government

not terrible i guess, but it doesn't help that i haven't started any of the papers. tomorrow's gunna be a bitch.

I've got a 10-12 page research paper due on the 15th. It's partially done. And aside from some reading for the same course that's all I have left to do this year, other than probably a final exam (which would be closer to the end of the month, or beginning of June). I'd say "life is good" but in all honesty I'm incredibly bored. But at least I'll have a more balanced load in the fall.

tests.

i guess my school is fairly late, as we haven't even hit review week yet, and finals don't even begin until week after next. i know i have a paper in theatre that'll be a breeze to write, just a three page essay replying to 'what is theatre?' in class.

my math teacher says that if anyone makes 100 on the final she'll automatically pass them, no matter what grade they have going into it. i suckkk at math, and my grade is depressingly low, so hopefully i can at least make a 95 or so... i really don't want to be balancing a summer job with remedial alegebra ii :-/

history's gonna be a breeze, too. not really worried this year about finals overall.

and just because i like trying out the new smileys: :calvin2:

i seriously love all of the new icons!

Just two exams, one of which I will ace. Although I'll fail the other. :(

two more exams (same as lund, i will probably do well on one and not-so-well on the other) and i have to give this power point presentation thing tomorrow that i haven't started yet. plus i have to work tonight, which is lame. oh well. i'm actually looking forward to studying for math because i'm so sick of biology.

most of you guys have it a lot worse than i do, except for luke, you bastard. good luck!

Stat final
Actuarial math final
Lit final
Mgmt paper ~ 15 pages. It's really 30 , but he wants it in 14pt font, 1.5 line spacing because he's going blind or something. It looks like I'm handing in a report in 6th grade.

3rd actuarial exam on may 18th is what I really care about. Not school related, but much harder than any of my finals. At this point, everything else I view as taking away study time for this. Fuck school.

But I do graduate on the 14th.

no finals for me this semester. seniors don't take 'em unless they're failing. :bauer:

hahaha, senior year ruled. i only had one exam, and that was because it was a class i only took the second semester. aced it.

this semester, i had three exams. three simple, to-the-point exams; pretty sure i aced two of them. a lot less of a worry than the first semester this year, in which i had actual projects for two of my classes that i had to spend hours on.

Fake African travel brochure. Fixed it all up in Photoshop and Illustrator and put the finishing touches on it in InDesign. All I need now is to type up some info on the getaway and I'm done.

Sociology exam(easy)
8 page paper analyzing a poem by Thomas Gray
3 page essay questions for Folklore

American Indian Issues and Images In Mass Media: Ugh. A 7 page (minimum) paper along with a five minute in class presentation. However, we had virtually no work for most of the semester.

Introduction To Cultural Anthropology: Cumulative scantron final worth 40% of my grade

Introduction To Astronomy: Noncumulative final worth about 20% of my grade and a 5 page paper worth nearly the same

Creative Writing: various small assignments along with another 5-6 pages of creative work

World History Through 1500: A bluebook essay final worth about 20% of the grade.

not to mention looking for an apartment or room for rent in one of the nation's most compacted cities.

Just did a 5000w report on what research is. What a load of bull.

Still due a 5000w on predatory pricing, a 4000w on some statistical junk. Both due, start of June.

And then there are the exams.

Depending on whether or not we get exemptions from our core classes for passing the state standardized test, I may only have to take Yearbook, in which case I will have nothing to do that day. Speaking of Yearbook, we're distributing tomorrow and during Physics, my friend pulled me out to say there was an problem with the shipment. Turns out he only wanted a full team to play Ghost Recon. Boy, was it good to get out of Physics.

Stuff to do before the end of the year:
1) English III Honors
-Edit poetry criticism paper
-Take several quizzes over Reading Lolita in Tehran
2) Band
-Concert on Tuesday
3) U.S. History AP
-Unit test
-Current event
-2 projects (a person and event between the Great Depression and the end of the Vietnam War)
4) Yearbook
-Distribute yearbooks
-Play more Ghost Recon and Scene It (I'm the current class champ for movie, TV and music versions)
5) Honors Physics
-Unit test
-District standardized test
-Busywork

Maaaan yesterday sucked. I was SO not ready for that history test and no amount of studying could have ever made me ready...could not retain a single fucking thing. I couldn't very well ask for a last minute reschedule either...but I did anyway :D

....and like I thought it wasn't gonna happen. Not because she didn't want to, she actually did consider it but there was simply no other time I could do it before grades get turned in because they gave her a last minute program to set up for graduation. Stayed up til' like 4 AM studying and trying to write notes, no luck, brain farts, massive headache, very tired, bad lighting due to everyone being asleep and the teacher's review being on the computer.

Got up at 10 AM to try again before I had to shower and leave by 12:30, managed to fill my cheater note card (standard issue from the teacher herself) all the way up on one side and about half of the other side with the tiniest, messiest frantic writing I could muster up in the time I had and still have it be legible enough for me.

*shrug*

You can tell my hand was dying by the end.

Then I went in and spent 3 hours writing, and I think I scraped a high C 8-)

I guess I really DO become more productive under pressure.

Finals are Wednesday & Thursday. I'm exempt from all of them (thank God for attendance exemptions.) So, for the rest of the week...
English III Honors:
-Discuss The Village
-Put together writing portfolios (we wrote A LOT this year)
Band:
-The people who are staying in band are reviewing marching fundamentals. I'm off to the side reading my Onion compilation.
AP U.S. History:
-Finishing projects (I did mine today on Jimmy Stewart and Motown's first #1 Pop single.)
Yearbook:
-More Ghost Recon (God I love that game.)
Honors Physics:
-Even though we're taking any more tests, Ms. Lyman still feels the need to teach us MORE about circuitry. Lady, no one cares!

yeah, my school has a no finals policy if you are getting a C or better in the class an you have 90% attendence. its for the whole school. pretty nice, but screws you a bit for being prepared for college finals.

Homer Jay
05-20-2006, 02:34 PM
My high school had that for senior year, if you missed two or less classes and got a B or better, then you didn't have to take a final. They hoped that it would make kids slack off a little less at the end of senior year
