What's up with the huge obscurity into which this series has drifted. It doesn't even have the five minimum votes on IMDB, and there's no epguides page. There's also zero talk of it being released onto DVD. Can anyone fill me in?

In the past ten years it's been like...made a Donnie Darko reference, inspired The Spermsons, and been the butt of slut jokes.

As for obscurity though, I don't see it. It doesn't exactly light up the modern cultural landscape, but how many 80's cartoons do? I've seen a lot of nostalgia for it and pop-culture parodies and such. It's hardly forgotten. It is just isn't a craze anymore, since the kids who watched it are now mostly adults.

The good old smurfs I have seen some episodes on dvd in your cheap discounted stores however I have not seen them in big department stores so I don't know suggest google it and see what answers you get. :)
