Well I dunno, the people crossing the street seem to stop and turn their heads exactly as it's happening. Plus the black car that the guy "misses" hits the breaks right before. Maybe the speeding car actually just stopped right before hitting the black car and someone just edited it to make it look like it made it through. Also, traffic seems to really slow down after it happens.

the mistake is that people are assuming that the speeding car is what is added in. it was more likely the speeding traffic, which would explain why people reacted the way that they did.
