Chances are that this has been done before, but I have never seen it, so let's give it a go.

My favorite moments are between :

* Peter driving his long car in and out of the tunnel

* Peter showing the tv producer when he was "hit by a car"

* the guy with the long arms tickling the midget in the tree when he is the only one who can save the kid in the well

* the "can't touch me" song

* brian and stewy trying to use the aeroplane - "my friend is too young to put a seed in your daughter and i am of a different species"

* Peter: I'll handle it, Lois. I read a book about this sort of thing once.
Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't nothing?
Peter: Oh yeah.

* Peter trying to think of a fake name, then he sees a pea, a tear and a griffin.

Well I originally was going to put 1 moment, but it turned out I enjoy quite a few moments, but if I had to narrow it down to 1 i would probably say it is when Peter shows the tv producer when he was "hit by a car".

Those are pretty funny and at least not of the latest season but I really enjoy a lot of the cheap season 1 gags.

"good morning, hebrews and schmebrews, what a glorious jewish day! so i went into this electric store, they had a tv for $700, but I ussed 'em down to 500"

Peter and a man standing in an elevator, man sniffs, disgusted. peter: "that was you"

WACKY WAVING INFLATABLE ARM-FLAILING TUBE MAN!

"i have diabetes. yesterday i hit my wife, then i found out she's been dead for five years. who the hell did i hit?" - Brought to you by the national diabetes association.

Brian: "It's just a phase, Peter. Like that time you started narrating your own life."

-Peter falls out of an airplane, examplifying the "most reckless thing he's ever done"
-Meg learns that the boys in the cult were all castrated.
-Peter refuses to kill the kids from Dawson's Creek, but Death talks him into it anyway
-"It's creamed corn. I brought it from home, because I don't like the creamed corn the have here. It's too crunchy."
-Peter's first Giant Chicken battle
-The Big Fat Phony guy
-"I'm sorry, sir. You're not allowed to park your van here."

When it got cancelled

My worst was when it came back.

I thought of another 2, although they basicly are the same ideas, which is Peter trying to do a Jerry Springer style "final word". They were :

* "it's not important what the color of your skin is, the only color that is important is green"

and

* "it's not about where you're from, as long as we're all the same religion" (I'm not sure if this is accurate, it's from the witness relocation program episode when they went to the south)

My favorite would have to be "Remember the time I got a salmon helmet from Mohammed while wearing a toga?"

No but seriously, the show just has had too many funny moments (mostly from seasons 2 and 3) to be able to pick one. It's not like The Simpsons, where you can choose from just a handful of truly classic moments.

i just like the random anecdotes in family guy
For example.
Peter: "This is almost as exciting as that time i got to ride the washing machine"
*Cuts to Peter in the washing machine gigling like a girl*
after this it then goes to another scene.

Or there is that episode where hes like "To the Peter-Copter" & crashes it into the cripples yard. then "To the Hinden-Peter" & does the same thing.

The 'sode where they all go to the South. Chris finds out Sam is a girl and becomes very shy. She tells Chris to pretend she's a boy and that gets Chris going, if you know what I mean.
That or the song Stewie plays on the banjo from the same 'sode.

It would be impossible for me to name a favourite, or even shortlist a few. I love family guy for the random cuts to other scenes i.e. "Just like that time you...", the hilarious parodies and culture references.

that was classic "OH MY GOD!" "Joe I am so sorry" "How do you afford these things."

I also liked when Stewie was talking to Brian's dead mother..."come on darling, stiff upper lip..."

but again there's just too much funny stuff...I don't understand why ppl bash it and AD so much...obviously they have a problem with good shows... :D

IT'S RAINING SIDEWAYS!!
And generally any time they cut to the black weather guy (Is his name Ollie Williams? I'm not sure)

I also loved the "high-trousered, fast talking" thing in one of the latest episodes.

Oh, and another thing that had me and my friends laughing for about five minutes was an episode where Lois describing getting a rush or something, then shouted "oh yeah Peter, spank me!" and Bryan spanks her. We had to pause the episode until we put our split sides back together. Anybody remember the episode? It may be early Season 4.

Every moment mentioned is this thread is great, I couldn't think of a list. There's just way to many hilarious things (in seasons 2 and 3) I might as well think of a few.

Chicken fight 1.
Cant touch this.
The big phoney guy.
ollie williams cutaways.

And much much more!
