What was your first car? How long did you have it, what happened to it? Pictures would be nice if possible, either of the exact car or one like it, for those who can't picture a car by it's model year and name.

1984 Toyota Supra. 170,000 miles, which is a lot, but it runs good with no major problem, and I didn't pay for it.

Actual picture of my first car, 1996.

1983 Pontiac 1000 (Chevy Chevette clone). Served me well for a full year until it met up with a traffic light pole after swerving to avoid a land yacht that ran a red light. I got double what I paid for it, so you didn't hear me crying.

Not my photo, but that was it exactly. I got it after my grandfather died in 1998. In 2001 my dad gave me his '93 Honda Accord and we sold the Caprice to a neighbor. It's since vanished out of this kid's driveway...I miss it so. Totally sweet ride.

I bought a 1972 Plymouth Satellite for $75 when I was 17. It wasn't in as good of a shape as the one in this picture, though.

The roomy backseat made for the perfect love making place for a couple of horny teenagers. I think I got laid here more than in my bed.

I used to go over 100mph on the interstate. I got it up to 125mph on I-95, and it started shaking like it was going to fall apart.

as i've told rekart, that's a nice model of the supra to have, evolution II from the celica split.

i drove my dad's trucks for years (as early as junior high, when i was 12-14). '91 dodge dakota...'94 gmc sierra. both good trucks, both had tons of mileage. we put in a new engine on the dakota one summer. it had the recongizable bed rollbar. then i had the first car in my name, 97 grand prix se with the non-standard high performance GM engine our mechanic bought and helped put in, which i still own and still drives well.

edit. here's the dakota. not the 91 like mine, nor was it extended cab, but very similar body and power. missing the hick cablight rollbar too

1989 Nissan Stanza. I paid $700 for it, and two weeks later I plowed it into the back of a Volvo. The girl driving the Volvo stopped and didn't signal, and I couldn't stop in time. It was declared as a no fault accident, even though she didn't have a drivers license. The whole front-end was smashed in, and it still started up and ran. It just didn't have a front anymore. I sold it for $200. I am on my sixth car now:

1993 Chevy Astro van (sold due to fuel costs)

mine was red, but you get the drift. I have photos of my actual car, but I’m at work so they’re not here. Perhaps I’ll up them at some point. it had a shit engine and i couldn't take it on the highway without violent shaking, but i still loved it like a child. had bucket seats and a very 60s dash. i got it in 1997 when i first got my license from a friend of my dads. drove it until 2003 when the engine and transmission started to go and i couldn't afford to replace them again (i had already replaced the engine circa 1999).

i will one day acquire another one.

no. "pimp cars" are generally late 60 or 70s GMs. plus the Comet was way too small to ever be considered a pimp car.

My very first car was a 1990 Volvo Sedan like the one pictured below:
http://www.imcdb.org/images/000/556.jpg
It was a very dark greenish color... looked alot like the one in the pic.

I got into a pretty bad (for me, not so much the other guy) accident. I hit the brakes and skid so hard my car "nose-dived" and my grill/headlights hit the other guys bumper. His car was fine... little scratches on the bumper and he didn't even car... collision wasn't rough neither of us was hurt... but the grill/headlights aren't designed to take a hit. Grill was gone, headlights facing the wrong directions... and the engine was knocked off its brackets which caused the power steering to go out and to make a lot of noise.

What eventually killed the car though was a complete failure of the oil system... it blew a lot of gaskets or something due to pressure (probably from some idiot at the dealership who had just changed the oil). The cosmetics and annoyances I could deal with... but without oil it wouldn't run, and it would have been pricey to fix. So I donated it to a charity auction for the tax write off and got a new car Feb 2004.

The old Volvo lasted me about 7 years.

seeing as this IS a thread about first cars, i wouldn't say that's a crime.

pulling rank. that's great.

baselessly insulting my girlfriend was a pretty shitty and retarded thing to do. she DOESN'T look 'mannish,' and that's all there is to it. saying those bullshit things about someone who doesn't even post at the nhc, aside from being EXTREMELY offensive and the insults being invalid, is just creepy.

not to mention that it takes the definiton of asshole to a new level to say that a girl who has been diagnosed with anorexia looks like a man. i mean jesus christ, just how low are you willing to sink for a fucking laugh?

in conclusion, up yours.
it's relevant because you seem to think i have committed some atrocity by posting a few photos of my bike, but you have posted quite literally hundreds of photos of yourself.

well guess what, that's the first vehicle that i've owned. so i wouldn't say posting a picture of my bike in this thread is a chrime.

i had no idea your girlfriend had been diagnosed with anorexia when i made that post. if i had known i probably wouldn't have called her mannish. i would have called her fat, or told you to tell her to go eat a fucking sandwich instead. i don't give a flying fuck if she's anorexic. that's her own fault.

enough. now go take more pictures of yourself in ridiculous poses to post on the internet.

post again or send me a pm and you get warned for every post you've made in this thread except the first one.
