First non-topical episode in a while:
"The boys' lives are in danger when they're trapped in the Cave of the Winds. While searching for a way out of the cave, Cartman discovers treasure. After the cave-in, all the exits are blocked off and Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman are all alone. Only one person knows they’re trapped under all the debris and he’s not telling. Cartman‘s only thought is how to get the treasure out without sharing it with the rest of the boys."

eh average episode wasn't to funny. The Al Gore thing at first was ok but got old quick. 3/5

I doubt that this was relevant to Al Gore' current status or attitude. He did refuse to run for President in the 2004 Election.
The ending was pretty funny, but the episode was only marginally better than last week's episode.

That was absolutely ridiculous, particularly the second half. Nice, fun episode that hurt a bit from the usual South Park problems (overemphasis on repeating jokes). The Al Gore stuff was funny, but wore a bit thin after awhile. It was nice seeing the four boys off on another wacky adventure, complete with Kenny having some lines. All in all, a decent, harmless episode with a ridiculous ending sight gag.
The best moment, in my opinion, was when Kyle awoke when Cartman was close to his face. Hilariously awkward. 4/5 B
EDIT: How the heck did the kids get out of the cave after Cartman and Kyle sank beneath the water?

Awesome episode, I have already said this twice about a season 10 episode but this was the best episode so far.5/5

Hilarious stuff with Al Gore. As always the Cartman-Kyle dynamic was great, I'm totally cereal.

Al Gore kind of seems like a random target, but I find the idea of famous politicians just hanging around and being losers to be inheritely hilarious for some reason (it doesn't matter who they are or what I think of them in real life) so hey, it worked for me. Anyway, pretty hilarious episode. Another one where a ton of things were just really crazy and hilarious and I could barely contain myself from laughing. 5/5

I liked it too, for pretty much the same reasons. And I love the idea of Cartman going through all that for fake treasure to be justice.
4/5
4/5- I enjoyed it but Al Gores I'm cereal super cool joke got old towards the end.
Another dreadful episode. The 'super cereal' joke wasn't even funny the first time he said it, let alone the next ten times. Even Cartman is getting tiresome. I miss all the supporting characters, like Butters, Timmy, Jimmy and even the other parents (why is it Randy Marsh all the time?). If next week's isn't an improvement then I'm done with South Park. 2/5

this was awful. i don't get what their point about Al Gore was (and what a relevant target right now?), the "cereal" thing was never funny, and even the aspects that seemed like SP staples (Cartman being selfish and plotting behind the others' back) were just not working for me. this season has been a huge disappointment and i find it hard to believe just how bad it really is because i actually liked a good deal of last season's eps. 1/5
*and i know some of you will tell me i should just stop watching it; and maybe you're right. i'll continue to watch it for now, but i won't be posting reviews here anymore unless my opinion changes, because I’ve basically had the same opinion of every episode so far.

I'm not sure how this episode can really be disliked by long-term fans of the show. Not that I thought it was AMAZING or anything, but it had a very old-school feel to it (random celebrity jabs, the four boys sharing the spotlight in a crazy adventure, Kenny getting a few lines in, Cartman scheming with ridiculous consequences, violent excrement jokes, very little based on current events, etc). Honestly, it felt plucked straight out of season 3 or 4, and was pretty refreshing after the more dramatic (yet still good, IMO) episodes this season.
EDIT: Was the "serioul" running gag based on something Al Gore said before, or was it just a random mispronunciation like "authori-tah?"

yes, like i said, much of it felt like earlier episodes, but (to me) it just wasn't working; it wasn't funny.
and regarding the post below mine:
No one here's made the connection to global warming yet. Manbearpig = global warming, which real-life Gore keeps telling everyone will kill them all if they don't listen to him right now.
i did consider that it might be about his stance on global warming, but for one thing, that's not something as "out there" as a manbearpig, that only Gore believes in. and also, they've been over this before, not only about global warming specifically (day before day after tomorrow) but also with the over-zealot that's willing to kill children to further his self-serving cause (the smoking one with Rob Riener). so, i still think the episode was rather pointless, re-hashed and not funny.

Not that he's the only one saying that, but I believe I've read that Gore's got a documentary coming out that sounds as if it will be to global warming what Reefer Madness was to pot... not that Reefer Madness was a documentary, but you get what I'm saying...

Like you, I also find this season's episodes disappointing: I feel that Matt and Trey are going for 'shock value' than for humor. I'm not laughing at what they're putting out.
I missed last night's ep-totally forgot it was on, so I hafta see it tonight.

This season's Free Willyzx.
C+
This was boring for the most part, and not really all that funny. I think they can be a lot more creative with someone like Al Gore, a huge improvement on last week's pathetic excuse for an episode, but still not all that great. 3/5 ...and I thought Free Willyzx was awesome.

Refreshing to see a non-topical episode, now if only it were funnier. Don't get me wrong, I liked this episode fine, but it seemed like it had more potential.
The stuff with the kids was pretty good, if a bit slow at times. Cartman and Kyle face-to-face, Cartman needing the others to save him, and seeing Cartman defacate the treasure were all great, and pretty fitting overall. The problem I had with this episode was Al Gore. He had some good moments, but by the end he was just getting tiresome (serioul got old very quickly). Also, it seemed like Trey and Matt were holding back too much when it came to making fun of Gore. I really wanted to see them really go after Al Gore, but most of the jokes were thin and repeated too often. It was also kind of a disappointment that we never got to see Manbearpig (though I guess that may have been too much of a retread of Scuzzlebutt). There was still enough to warrant a decent grade, 3/5, but it seemed like it could have been much better.

still a bit dodgy in comparison to the more successful sp's we haven't seen in a while, but still much, much better than last week and as triforcebun said plenty of classic elements. the whole cartman smuggling treasure worth $14 was perfect i thought, and it was hilarious when he woke up over kyle. manbearpig and al gore was a bit hard to not be frustrated at sometimes but good episode.

It was alright, but the digs at Gore weren't very solid, and his character wasn't very funny. Cartman eating the treasure was pretty amusing, but not enough to save a disappointing episode. 2/5

I thought it was quite good. About the same as last week's, but I don't think anything can top The Return of Chef and Cartoon Wars this Season.

Even though it had an accurate portrayal of Al Gore, the episode was anything too special.

this one seemed more like a regular south park episode. al gore was totally random and I didn't think anything he said was all that funny... is there some joke I was supposed to get? otherwise, it was a much better episode than the rest of the season. 4/5

This was a good episode. It seemed a bit disjointed with the focus first being on Al Gore, then the boys are stuck in a cave, and Al Gore wore out his welcome around the time the cave stuff started (hey maybe that's why). Otherwise there were plenty of funny moments. It definitely did feel old-school, and Cartman was more effective than he's been in about two years if you ask me.

It was OK, Cartman eating treasure and everything revolving around that was funny and Al Gore was funny about half the time.
But I think this is a topical episode, mostly because of Gore's comment at the end ("Maybe I'll make a movie about me") and the fact his self-starring documentary about global warming (whose existence is apparently debatable... like manbearpig?) comes out next month.
