I'd say a line of action figures and playsets will got the dosh flowing. But I'd like some items that are real treasures that fel unique in comparison to the show. But all I know is that merchandise will be coming thick and fast towards the release date (I dunno how die-hard Star Wars fans coped with their finances between 1999-2005).
Thoughts anyone...

Normal merchandise with the words "The Simpsons MOVIE" slapped onto them, probably.

I'll bet a video game, loosely following the plot. Adapted into a children's book, is quite likely. And obviously the DVD, with loads of special features. Just thinking about a feature length commentary is making me drool (yes, I'm anticipating the commentary more than the movie).

Most likely there'll be loads of sponsorships on cereals/drinks and McDonald's will produce a bunch of cheap toys to go with the release of the film. It may all depend on what the plot is, though, as to what specific merchandise will appear.

That reminds me of The Simpsons Xmas Book...wonder if a book of the Simpsons film would be an actual novel or like said Christmas book?

If there's a deal with McDonald's or whatever, then aside from the decorated plastic cutlery and such, they might just release Simpsons characters dressed as film producers...

I wouldn't actually mind any of those.

They have to release a CD with the soundtrack, obviously.

A huge weighty tome entitled "The Simpsons Movie: The Novel", with a foreword by Norman Mailer. Won't be anything like seeing the movie in the cinema though.
