I was a bit disappointed really. Half the reason why Ricky Gervais is funny on shows like The Office is the reactions of people intelligent enough to see his character for what it is. If he tells an unfunny joke then you will see the other characters looking at eachother as if waiting for the punchline. There wasn't much of that in this episode because he spent most of the time with Marge, who came across as thoroughly stupid.

On another note, aren't Simpson episodes getting a little crude in these past few years? A particular low point was when Homer was at a feminist convention as he said the words "I'm becoming ashamed of my penis" and the episode "Large Marge"

There's a rate and review thread for this episode in the Voting Booth since it aired in the US a while ago, although since you're new you weren't to know.

Anyway it got absolutely slaughtered on a British website I visit. Nearly everyone hated it, it seems this site was relatively generous to it. I totally agree about Marge though; if she was intended to be pretending to find him interesting then it needed to be conveyed more obviously because it just seemed like she was ludicrously impressed by everything.

What Veryjammy said. I'd merge this, but since the review thread's in a different section it might be confusing, so I'll just link you to the thread and you can decide if you want to repost it there or not. Welcome to the board BTW Padalin.
