ATTN: MY FELLOW SAN DIEGO NHC COLLECTORS
Simpsons Ironic Punishment is at the Toys R Us in Oceanside-saw
an unopened cardboard box on top of a bunch of other unopened action figures that was on a stockperson's cart this morning.
Read the box-there are SIX in a pack, so there's plenty
to go around (unless some scuzzy person bought them all and plans to sell them at a swap meet for double the price).
CHECK YOUR LOCAL SAN DIEGO AREA TRU'S!!!

Same here. I hate living in San Bernardino County. Plus, my best friend on IMDB lives in San Diego. However, if I had my way, I'd live in Ventura County around Ventura or Oxnard.

I got one today at a Tower Records. I thought it would be a little bigger, and the turn crank for the doughnuts doesn't work that great, but I still think it's pretty cool. Great packaging, and seeing Homers mouth and legs move is pretty funny.
I'm about 15 minutes away from Oceanside.
Dont really get your post. So theres exclusive simpsons stuff at this toys r us? Or is this just a few shipments that came in?

To: Chris W
I called the Escondido TRU and the teen-age girl who answered the phone sounded like
she didn't know what her store has, so I would take a chance and just drive down there.
To: Drew
There was one ONE cardboard box that was sitting with the rest of the stock wagon thingie at the O'side TRU, and when the popularity began waning on the 'Playmates' figures, they dropped them.
I just think they brought the line back because Mc Farlane picked it up.

Was at TRU in Oceanside last night: still have all six Ironic Punishments (gad, they're dinky...and the paint job isn't all too hot, either).
Methinks the Mc Farlane line is going to bomb out unless changes are to be made.

the bad paint job on the ones I've seen here on the east coast is really disappointing

Hopefully you know this scene from the show. It's a classic moment.

thats a cool looking toy, is this a series of toys from the THOH eps only? Also, just because I don't play with toys doesnt mean I dont enjoy the show or frequent the site, I don't need to be insulted, but thank you bluemoose.

I don't think that was the intention, and sorry your feelings were hurt: it's just that it was common knowledge around NHC (and other websites) that Ironic Punishment was coming out-we members just didn't know when!!!

I wasn't really interested in this one (I'm starting to run out of space for displaying this kind of stuff, so I have to be very selective), and I was more convinced of not buying it after seeing some disappointing close-up photos. I think it could have been much better than it has turned out to be.
On the other hand, I'm looking forward to the couch gag set. The sculpts look pretty good and accurate in the prototype photos and I think the magnets are a much better special feature than a "donut-eating action" whose only long-term purpose is to make the figure look worse than it could've been without it.

Like you, my space is limited: I have one 50 gallon container, at least two 'Omaha Steaks' styrofoam containers and three 45-gallon 'Rubbermaid' storage containers
full of 'Simpsons' stuff that take over my closet and one corner of my already dinky boudior.
If and when Mc Farlane has a 'Simpsons' character that 'Playmates' did not make, I may be interested in purchasing a set.
