It's been quite tough for me to get into the show for some reason. I've seen some funny parts, but basically, there's something about the show that's a miss. It just doesn't have the same creative spirit of either Rocko's Modern Life or SpongeBob SquarePants. Ironically, most of Lazlo's crew came from both shows.
What's the general opinion about Camp Lazlo (for the few who DO watch it)?

From the Cartoon Cartoons R&R thread:
- "Camp Lazlo" (3/5):
From the few episodes I've seen, it seems like a CKND-like I-can-stand-it-sometimes show. I can't understand how the mastermind behind Rocko's Modern Life created this.

It's one of the unfunniest shows currently on Cartoon Network.

I think it has sort of a quiet charm, and can occasionally be really clever, but it's a bit too subdued in its style. They need to wacky it up a bit. Even so, it's generally pleasant and watchable with a few chuckles, but far from the legendary chaotic quality of Rocko.

What the previous users have said. I've tried getting into it when it first came out, but it's just not as goofy and silly as it should be. I think the characters and setting are great, it just needs more laughs.

Camp Lazlo fucking sucks. Joe Murray should seriously just end/give up this joke of a show, and resurrect Rocko's Modern Life (a good show) before it's too late.

The badguy, the Pissed off Platypus "Edward" with his Ray Ramono sounding kinda voice made it funny at times. But for the most part, I would only tune in and watch this uninspired show from time to time for one reason only....

oh Gatorgod
anyway, I've watched this show a few times, and I think it seems to have two major flaws:
1. The characters seem under developed, and their designs are bad. It took a while before I could even distinguish which character was which.
2. It seems like they are trying to capture a combination of Spongebob and Rocko's Modern Life, but it seems like the show always plays it too safe. I mean, I haven't seen that many episodes, but it has none of the satire and underlying tones that made Rocko so great. Also, when Camp Lazlo tries to be weird, you can tell how forced it is.
So, more or less, its just a typical new uninspired kids cartoon.

Camp Lazlo may not be perfect, but it's better than some of the other crap on Cartoon Network right now (My Gym Partner's a Monkey or Squirrel Boy anyone?).

It's really very meh... I remember watching Foster's Home for Imaginary friends, and then quickly changing the channel when Lazlo came up afterwards. I'd still lump it with the class of Squirrel boy and My Gym Partner's a Monkey.

This show and 'My Gym Partner's a Monkey' are as generic as you can possibly get for a children's cartoon show.

Bad show. Lazlo is irritating as hell. Charlie Adler proves once again that has zero range by busting out his Ed Bighead voice for the millionth time.

I don't get it, Lazlo is supposed to be the main character, but is the least interesting one.
Also, I'm suprised people don't find Raj to be racially offensive.

I'd just like to add something myself. On top of all the criticisms everyone has mentioned (and I agree with them), one thing I don't like about this show is that it's simply ugly to look at. The color scheme on this show is terrible, it uses too much yellow, brown, and orange, and everything looks so bland, so unimaginative, and so muggy. Shows like Spongebob and Foster's have rich palettes and bright colors, but everything here looks plain.
Sorry to add to all the bashing of this show, but I felt that just had to be said. I'm still wondering how this show's one-hour special won the Emmy over Foster's one-hour special.
