I love the show. I can't wait for tonight's episode on prostitution.. Last weeks on Boy Scouts was great. What a stupid organization.

Any other P&T:BS fans/watchers?

Yeah, I like this show a lot. I'm not sure I've seen all of them, but I have my dvr record them as they are on. The episode on ghosts and ghosthunters was hilarious. It really is an interesting and funny show.

i've got mixed feelings on this show. sometimes it's funny, but a lot of the time it's far too heavy-handed and preachy. not to mention the fact that they're constantly blasting people for not using all the facts, but they're doing the same thing! they pick and choose the facts/evidence that help support whatever point of view they happen to align themselves with. there's nothing wrong with that, per se, but don't be hypocritical about it and don't pretend that an hour long show can possibly tackle all angles of an issue. plus they come off as so goddamn smug and superior it puts a nasty taste in my mouth.

They always have different people to argue their side on the show. And they get smart people most of the time, that are experts on the issue. But the ones going against the guys come off as idiots a lot, and get bashed by Penn for it... Quite a talented basher, he is.
I don't know what you mean by smug at all. I don't think they think they are superior at all. They bash people who think they are superior..

BTW, Gunslinger, they are on Season 4. Season 3 will be on DVD this summer, I believe.

They are supposed to make them look like boobs. The show is supposed to be funny and informative, and the "funny" comes from them making those on both sides look like idiots. That's the gimmick.

I downloaded seasons 1-3 last week. Great show. I saw the Recycling and Saftey Hysteria episodes years ago (whenever it was I got Showtime free for a week), and was hooked. I wasn't sold on their claims or agreed with them half the time, but they are always entertaining.

well, i don't know. i've always gotten the impression that Penn genuinely thinks he's smarter than everyone alive; and not just from that show but also interviews i've seen with him and contributions he does for shows on the history channel etc.

I like the show, it's totally biased, but entertaining, and funny. Plus, you might have some ideas shattered.

I thought the 2nd hand smoking episode was pretty much the worst one I've ever seen, they went by one fucking study. I like the show, I agree that they come off pretty smug, but the show is called Bullshit, Penn & teller being assholes adds to the humor. I really don't think they're expecting any one person to agree with all the topics they present anyway.

The thing is, I went in to that one with the same view as it presented. That may be why I liked it. And they were debunking the "one fucking study" because it was the only one that the second-hand smoke people kept coming back to.
