You learn something new everyday: Don't go to church with Hank.
I'm pretty sure any churchgoer has been late for church on some occasions. Even then, churches don't have assigned seats. Hank is the one who lets the little things bother him, so he threatens to leave Arlen Methodist after only ONE incident. Shame they couldn't find a better reason for him leaving.
The megachurch, at least here, felt a lot like a community in itself. I don't know if megachurches are REALLY like that, maybe because I've never been to one. But I highly doubt that it would require a full-time commitment, especially to the legnth Hank had to go to.
Peggy's got a new gig (presumably in-between writing for the Arlen Bystander). Jim Dauterive did an excellent job of moderating her ambitious drives, and shows promise for his returning to the show next season.
The sub-plot, of what little there was, was somewhere in the territory of "Homer the Heretic", and further developed Luanne and Lucky's relationship in an ammusing way. Lu still has yet to learn Lucky's last name.
One thing: When the Hills went to a Catholic church, it would seem like Peggy would have SOME idea of the way services are conducted, since she once masqueraded as a nun.
The ending, while predictable, did its job in expressing the message: One's worship in God is not in the number of privileges you get, but in the place you're most comfortable at.
"Church Hopping" once again shows that King of the Hill is still capable of making good stories, and in this case, has even improved its characterizations and humor. Along with several other episodes, this is the kind of entertainment that the show has been in need of for a long time.
4.5/5
