Aloha, NHC!

Rather than 'explode onto the scene' in a melee of wit, wonder, convoluted wordplay and multicolour glow-sticks, I'm going to keep my entrance simple and precise. After shaving down an introductory speech which consisted of 1,500 words, 23 ampersands, 10 salutes to brown sugar and many, many hidden ultra-liberalist messages, I came up with the following:

Hello, I'm Orzabal's Eleven. I'm obsessed with Tears For Fears. I have blu-tack underneath my thumbnails.

You shall no doubt see me wandering the forums, so keep both your eyes and your sense of aesthetics peeled. Tschuss!

Well, I know you'll just love my standard greeting for NHC newbies...

..."Welcome to your life/There's no turning back" - Tears For Fears

They're a good band as well. I had older cousins that were into them when I was 4 or 5 years old. I got Songs From the Big Chair last February for only $5.99 on iTunes and am pondering getting their debut, The Hurting.

"Even while we sleep/We will find you acting on your best behaviour/Turn your back on Mother Nature..." :D Incredible song, probably their best.

In terms of The Hurting, I'd definitely consider checking it out, I've rarely come across material they've made that's been shoddy. The Hurting's rather more angsty, New Wavey stuff, and SFTBC is definitely their best album, but I'd definitely give that and 'Elemental' (1993) a look if you're into broadening TFF horizons. :)

Oh, and thank you for the comforting welcomes. I feel as if I've paid a downpayment on a cushy high-rise pad. :)

Thanks for all the welcomes, folks. As for TFF, I'll try not to drag them into discussion too much, though I can't promise a lack of strained, tenuous nods to their existence :D
