It’s only a little over a month away so I decided to make a thread to find out what everyone at NHC is looking forward to at this years E3.
I'm looking forward to seeing some new DS games and some next generation titles and what the reaction is to how the games play on the revolution.

This will actually be a very exciting E3. Probably get some playable PS3 games, Revolution demonstrations, and some 2nd generation 360 games. I'm looking forward to it.

I would also like to see if the PS3 lives up to all the hype from last year and maybe a possible price for the system.

I don't see how it will be less than $500. Seriously.

I have been reading some rumors that it might be around the $700 price range.

Now...I could be wrong, but I don't think that a $700 console will sell well. Sure, the hardcores are going to buy it up immediately, but try justifying that price to a casual gamer or a middle class kid's parents.

^Agreed if the console is even over $500 it might be a pass for me.

I'm drastically cutting back on how much I'm willing to spend on games (any one game or system, that is) myself. Even anything over 200 would probably be more than I'd be willing to spend. That's not to say I won't get a PS3, but unless I get it as a gift, it won't be for a few years.
But anyway, this is sure to be an exciting year. The best part is that we don't know what to expect really. Even the most exciting thing last year (Zelda) was something we already expected basically, because it had been revealed the year before. This year there's going to be a fuck-ton of brand new games we've never seen before, and not to mention more PS3 and Revolution news.

No you won't fool the children of the Revolution.
Predictathon:
Nintendo are going to steal the show. PS3 games will end up looking indistinguishable from 360. 360 will probably still have no games I'm interested in.

Honestly, I hope we get some news on the next GTA game. I'm really curious to see where it'll take place and what not. Other than that, I'd like to see some Revolution games. They didn't show anything last year, and I think it might have been a smart move, because now more attention will be directed on the Revolution and it's games as opposed to last year where it was PS3/360.

^“The next GTA installment, yet to be named, is believed by gamers to be taking place in Carcer City”
I got this info from wikipedia GTA page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Theft_Auto_%28series%29).

All I want is an announcement for a US release of Mother 3. The rest? Exciting, but not as important.

There is no way Nintendo will steal a show in which PS3 games will be presented and played by people attending. No way.

yeah nintendo can go as far as jerking people off but if sony has any game playable they will get more interest...sadly.
anyhow lots of things interest me. namely upcoming ds games, any and everything relating to the revolution and hopefully some kick ass stuff for the 360.
ps3 is going to have to be the greatest thing ever to really gain my interest. aside from a couple of fantastic series owning a sony system is basicly just a waste for me.

I'm only really looking forward to seeing more of the Revolution, and the DS stuff that'll be released this year. PS3 and the 360 should be interesting, but I don't really care about either that much right now. I'll be more excited about what they have in store next year.

If Nintendo have playable demos of launch titles, release more details of the machine, and have one or two genuinely revolutionary games on show, I am positive that the internet will be buzzing with talk of Nintendo, how people found using the controller etc...
I have no doubt that amongst the general public, the PS3 will be the main console again. But in terms of 'stealing the show' I don't think it will. The graphics would have to be absolutely extroadinary, and I'm hearing more and more that it will not look amazingly better than the 360. What everyone really wants to know is how the Revo controller will function in reality, at least in hardcore circles.

What would really help Nintendo to steal some of the PS3's power is if they had some 3rd party titles announced and playable at E3. As far as my knowledge goes there hasn't been much talk of what the 3rd parties are up to and how they'll use the Revolutions controller or any of the games, so I'd be pleasently suprised to see more than just the expected Nintendo franchises at E3, playable or not.

I'm looking forward to E3 also. There's been alot of talk of who exactly needs to make the better impression at this years E3 between Sony and Nintendo. I would say that it's close, but Sony might need it a little more. With the amount of time they've spent being tight-lipped about future console gaming, both companies need to start talking and having game demos to play. However, Nintendo still has the DS to fall back upon, and it's been mentioned several times that the Revolution isn't meant to be in direct competition with Microsoft or Sony. Sony on the other hand can't depend on the PSP if the PS3 falters, and it has alot more to live up to with it's position in the console market. On top of that, alot of the press behind the Revolution lately has been positive besides the specs report (the growing downloading library, the dev kits being released, the larger 3rd-party support), whereas the PS3 has been seeing one negative story after another thrown at them (the cost of the system and the blu-rays, the recent laying off of employees, the redesign of the controller). Even with more pressure on Sony though, I'm pretty certain that they have more than enough support from fans to come out on top this year.
As far as Nintendo goes, I predict they will have a very good show, though they won't steal the spotlight. They'll already be grabbing alot of attention with the many mysteries of the revolution that still exist possibly being revealed, but if they can show some real game footage or have some playable kiosks available, they might get noticed even more. The DS will most likely compliment them well either way, since they are most likely going to have some more playable demos for the new Mario and Zelda games on the horizon.
Still, I think it's very likely that Sony will be the most popular name at the convention this year. With all of the rumors surrounding the PS3, they will definitely try to make a good lasting impression. I don't know if the visuals for the PS3 will look any better than those on the 360, but I'm pretty sure that either way Sony will run away with everything if they simply bring some playable demos. I have no idea what things will be like for the PSP, but it will be interesting to see what comes next now for the system. Between all the negative press for the UMD's as well as the gaming library blossoming nicely these last few months, things could pretty much go either way.
I haven't paid much attention to recent Microsoft news so I have no idea what games are next for them, but I'm pretty certain that Microsoft has got it the easiest this year. They are pretty much under no pressure except to show us some new titles, and even if they don't deliver they've got plenty of momentum to keep them going what with the gaming releases they've had in the last few weeks. I'm also still not sure if the reports behind a future Microsoft handheld were nothing more than rumors, but if they weren't now would be the time to do something about it.
I'd say we're in for a great ride.

GDC 06 (http://www.gamespot.com/events/gdc2006/index.html) had some stuff for Nintendo and PS3, I was looking forward to Satoru Iwata een bom zaal droppen. Spanuuuuuund. It was basically the whole inclusion of Genesis and Turbo Grafx for the Rev. But like most people, am waiting for new info on the Rev and PS3 since those two are likely carrying every game I have ever played and will ever want to. Not interested in 360 news right now, unless that news is of a future price drop which would help me make up my mind about which console to get by next year. And I pretty much only know that Warhawk for PS3 will be playable at E3 according to GameSpot.

Yeah.....Nintendo hardcore circles. E3 will be all about PS3, even if the Nintendo controller gives its user a blowjob before each game. You just have to understand that Nintendo doesn't pull even 1/2 of the weight it used to. This coming from a guy that owns a 360 and will be buying a Revolution and if it doesn't send me to the poor house, a PS3.

As for E3, I'm having a hard time getting jazzed up about it. I'll be workin' it for two of the three days, and not a single announced E3 title interests me. However, should a Simpsons game make an early appearance, I'm sure I'll be clamorin' to see it.

I was looking at wikipedia’s list of Nintendo revolution games (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_Revolution_games) that are in the works and there are some really cool sounding titles that are worth checking out.

Nintendo's pre-E3 press conference will steal the, uh, 'press conference show' from Sony and MS. Surely. It can't afford not to.
As for at the actual show, I'm not sure. If this secret feature that has been mentioned a fair few times (zie bom droppen, I guess) is really something, Nintendo might beat Sony there. But more than likely it will be Sony's super-duper-hi-definition games that get the most press. 360 will get no love outside of the Xbox fanboys this year.
I also second the Mother 3 US release request.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Halo (*gets killed by Xbox fanboys*). If that is there, that will make things very interesting. I don't think it will elevate them from the least notable console of the show, but perhaps if combined with the new Final Fantasy that was announced today and whatever else it could surprise everyone.
Either way, this E3 will be a great one.

G4 is doing a shitty job of broadcasting this thing; I just want to see some new games and not BS about when there new shitty shows are going to air.
Isn’t that what commercials are for?
Also my only holy shit moment of E3 so far was the awesome looking Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii.

Diddy Kong Racing DS!
Star Fox DS!
Mario VS. Donkey Kong 2!
Yoshi's Island 2!
Phoenix Wright 2!
Too bad they're mostly sequels, but hell, all of Nintnedo's DS titles (and Phoenix) look great.
The only real disappointment I have from Nintendo is that Twilight Princess is now in two versions, one for Wii, the other for the Gamecube...

And hopefully Xbox ;-).
So far Nintendo has been number one for me in terms of what they've shown, and very close behind is the 360. PS3 on the other hand...the only thing that really has excited is MGS4.

Hear hear. Vice City > everything else. (LCS on PS2 June 9th!)
Watched the Nintendo Conference last night - Oh. My. God. I want a Wii, and I want one now. I hope Nintendo do a Sony and do a worldwide release - I'm not waiting til May 2007 to get a British Wii.
