If u don’t know 10,000 Days is the title of tools forth studio album that is going to be release on May 2. There has been a lot of rumors and speculation about the album and I was just wondering if there are some tool fans here that had some thoughts about it.
A lot of the rumors are about the track list and the album title are not final and will be changed when it is released.
The first single is going to drop on the 17 of April this info was posted by Billboard magazine on March 27 but was not confirmed until April 1 when it was posted on toolband.com
Also one little thing I found was that the 17 is Maynard’s birthday

lots have changed since i enjoyed the hell out of "lateralus", but not a big tool fan as i used to be. so thoughts so far: meh.
stupid title though
i do still enjoy the hell out of lateralus and aenima from time to time, but yeah... tool's appeal to me has slipped quite a bit as well. honestly didn't even know they were putting out a new album till just now... don't really care about this one either way.

stupid title though
Agreed but if the rumors are true it is going to be changed.
Also the album cover that was released doesn’t look all the great

Even if no changes are made to this album and all this is final I’m still going to pick this up and I hope that at least the album sounds good

not fond of the album title, but I'm buying it either way. Saw 'em twice on their last tour, and they delivered both times......

Highly true, but someone was needed to bring sense to this pitiful thread.

Lighten up, christ. Complaining about other's music is an NHC tradition, and you know it.

It was announced on toolband.com today May 5 that there is in fact a hidden message in the stereoscopic images in the booklet.
PUZZLE?
I'm still getting lots of messages about the stereoscopic photos in 10,000 Days which, by the way, were taken by our good friend and a truly excellent photographer named TRAVIS SHINN. In carefully examining these (as well as the artwork), some of you are beginning to discover things that weren't immediately apparent. Yes, it is true that the four individual photos (of the band members) can be used as the pieces of a kind of puzzle, but for now that's about all I'm going to say. I guess it will just be another nut to crack.
Here is something I have found that I think might be peace of the puzzle.
First off in Maynard’s photo there is a clock on the right of his desk that is set to 11 o’ clock alone this meant nothing but in the picture that is 2 down from Jones is of a man with a spiral of fire coming out of his chest that has 12 beams of light supporting it and the 11th one is shorter this also looks like 11 o’ clock. There are a few more things I have found but there not of any interest at the moment.
If you have the album feel free to post anything that you have found.
Edit:Also there is a few more things at http://www.toolband.com/news/ that seem like clues as to where you should look.

I bought it last night. It's gonna take about 7 or 8 listens to fully soak it in, but I like what I'm hearing so far. Angry, even for Tool.....
so i've listened to it a few times and... it's okay i guess. there are a few good tracks: "vicarious", "jambi", "the pot". the 11 minute tracks aren't that interesting though. it isn't the length, as "reflection" is one of my favorites from lateralus. they just don't grab my attention and i find myself skipping them.
going to listen to it a few more times, maybe my opinion will change. album rankings (best to worst):
aenima
lateralus
10,000 days
undertow
opiate ep
(haven't listened to much of the cd portion of salival)

I like the Zeppelin cover of "No Quarter" on Salival, but anyway....
I've heard 10,000 Days a few more times, and my grade of it would probably be about a 4/5. What keeps it from getting a 5/5 is that a couple of sections seem like the band is building up to something, but ultimately the results are anticlimatic. Also, it just feels like it's missing that one song which "brings it all home", if that makes sense. But then again, maybe I'm complaining about too much of a good thing, being that it's a lengthy album & all.......
