I started this last night. I am going to watch every single Simpsons episode, in order, from the first Tracey Ullman short to the most recent show. Not consecutively, for I do have a life. Probably going to throw them on every night when I go to bed or when I'm sitting around the house and there is nothing else to do. Has anyone else ever done this?

I've been watching the show heavily lately. Fox 8 is at the tail end of a twelve day Simpson marathon. Unfortunately, I didn't have the presence of mind to hire a dvd recorder. Season 8 to 16 on VHS is okay, but DVD would be awesome!

no I haven't watched it from the start but if there is nothing else on tv I chuck on a simpson tape and hope I haven't watched it ethier on tv/video recently. It is good to watch them again I feel you usually start to pick up on things that you haven't seen before-(that's been my experience with it anyway). :-@

Well, it's almost been a month since I made this thread and I'm only on season 4. I'm hoping that by the time I get to season 8, it will be available on DVD. When is that coming out anyway...August?

Back in summer '04 I watched every single episode from season 1 to 15 in order over a period of 2 or 3 months, in anticipation for season 16. In fact, I think I had timed it just right that I got to the season 15 finale just a few days before THOH XV aired.

As for the S8 DVD, yeah, it should be coming out in August now.

I'm doing it. One episode per day. In my town, they started airing season 1 again few weeks ago,now they're airing season 2. They'll probably air the whole show. That would be nice. :)

I'll begin season 6 tonight. I don't have class tomorrow, so I might stay up and do a whole disc.

On Bank Holiday 29th May, I might watch Seasons 5-7. If I confirm this I might post a list of episodes I might see.

I'm only going to embark on a Simpsons Marathon once I own every single episode (+the movie[s]) on DVD.

^I'll pitch in on that. In fact if the NHC is still here when it happens, we'll have to get everyone to do it simultaniously, however many we can be assed to a night. I've done season 3 in a day before. And in anticipation of the new Chilis album recently, I did all 8 studio albums in a row. That's 7 hours of music, it gave me a bit of a headache.

I can only do 1 disk per session. I tend to start losing concentration otherwise.

Well, it's been almost exactly three months now. I'm mid-way through season 11. I'm surprised I've been able to keep at this.

Can't say I've sat down to properly watch them, but I do often have a season on with the commentary while I work at home. Maybe it's just the background noise I find agreeable, but the Simpsons DVDs are usually my first choice. I recently did seasons four and five in order over a couple of days.

Great! 6 seasons to go.... 8 if you include the the ones that havent aired yet.

What if the simpsons turns out like doctor who? Doctor Who has Done 43 years and still going.

i wouldnt really think it would...if it continued past even 25 seasons, it would end once a main voice actor or even Matt Groening passes away

Better yet, get all Simpsons fans in the one region together for a night of Simpsonia! This would most likely not work terribly well for the isolated regions of Australia, but it'd be cool otherwise.

Thing with Doctor Who is the convenience of the main character regenerating, and the huge gaps in production it's had. When was the series produced before this one? 1986 I think or thereabouts. The Simpsons (or any American show, for my money) could really do this, given the long season runs and constant development or the show in question.

That sounds like fun!

I've done that before....kind of. I have like four tapes filled with episodes, and sometimes I pop them in and watch a few on a lazy summer afternoon. Don't think I've exceeded more than four in a day though.

I agree with Nezbuchanezzar (did I spell it right? haha) that having a Simpsons' marathon between members in the same region would be...really, really great.

kinda off topic but since you have the dvd when the same episode from seasons 1 through 8 come on TV do any of you still watch it on TV?Or are you like i already have this on DVD i will watch it on DVD?Like me if i already have it on DVD i won't watch the episode on TV.

Kinda off topic? That has absolutely nothing to do with this. And why would you not watch an episode just because you have it on DVD? That doesn't make any sense.

Well...to you it doesn't. To us it does. I'm the same way. If I turn The Simpsons on and it is an episode I have on DVD, I can't watch it. Then again, I very rarely watch Simpsons on Fox anymore. I think the fact that I have a good chunk of the series on DVD has something to do with that.

My friends and I have wached entire seasons within th ecourse of a day, we also used to to watch our old VHS tapes that had about 15 episodes on each of them, I don't think I've ever exceeded 1 season a day

I've never watched an entire season a day. The very most I've ever watched is 2 discs in a day.
