Just got Season 8 today. Now, all thoughts turn to season 9.
My favorite is also Homer v. New York. The stand that sells chab chalash and crab juice eight years later.
Season 9-December 19th, if it's possible.

My favorite...definitely "The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson". It was the first episode I ever saw.

I think it'll be out in December 2006, as has been the pattern the past few years.

Moleman, why do you say 'one year after season 6' (August 2006), then link to an article in the S8 thread saying that S8 will be out in August?

I think he was just confused, possibly meaning that this cycle (ie the 2007 releases) would start about one year after season 6, or exactly when they did last year.

the Halloween episode is very special to me, because of the Tommy Boy reference, but best episode is either Realty Bites or Last Temptation of Krust. Bart Star and King of the Hill are also very good.

With Season 7 only out a month or two ago now, its hard to say. They might try to jam it in just before christmas, but they could leave it until early next year. I'd say between December and March 07.

Season 5 was released December 21st 2004, and they still managed to fit in Season 7 before the end of 2006...with time to spare, I might add.

Maybe it'll be sooner than it usually is, because the wait between 6th and 7th was very short. Maybe they're trying to crank them out faster, because a lot of people were getting pissed that the releases were so far apart.

Amazon says December 13.

This is supposed to be the Maggie box, right? I don't know how they're going to fit that in with the theme of the box being themed around one episode.

Almost certainly Decemeber, IMO. The last 2 years have been August and December, so I don't see any reason why they won't start the third year with the boxset (S9) released in time for Christmas.
