South Park is back on Wednesday at 10:00 p.m and here is the news for the opening episode from South Park Studios:

The launch of South Park’s 10th season is marked by the triumphant homecoming of school chef, Jerome McElroy. "The Return of Chef!," premieres Wednesday, March 22 at 10:00 p.m., only Comedy Central.

The town is jolted out of a case of the doldrums when Chef suddenly reappears. While Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman are thrilled to have their old friend back, they notice that something about chef seems different. When Chef’s strange behavior starts getting him in trouble, the boys pull out all the stops to save him.

According to a news source, him quitting was apparently NOT his choice:

Somebody quitted for him. Scientologists, perhaps?

This seems to still suggest that Chef is no longer in South Park. (I just can't wait to hear the "voice" they'll be suppyling for him in this episode...

*yawn*

If they make jokes / references at the expense of Isaac Hayes (which they probably will), it would be childish and shameless.

I know everyone says Isaac Hayes is an ass, they make fun of every religion, etc. But you have to admit the way they ripped apart scientology was very indecent and done without respect compared to their jabs at other religions. Not that I'm offended, but I don't think Isaac Hayes is a hypocrit.

I think the episode is supposed to make Chef a weird, stupid character that we wouldn't mind leaving the show.

It'd be hilarious if Hayes never quit at all and it was just a publicity stunt to boost ratings for the season premier and Hayes is voicing chef but it's credited as skinny white guy or something.

Wow, this gets even weirder. I tried searching for news articles about this supposed stroke he had back in January, and I found very few reports about it. This article from Fox News is the only one that follows up on it and claims that he suffered speech and memory problems from the stroke. It's all very strange... could a conspiracy be at hand here? :boggled:

They should do an episode mocking Heyes quiting and tie it in with Chef somehow, and have it where Chef has a rediculous sounding voice.

I hope they do that but it could be even funnier if they just use old Chef quotes.

JoshG
03-21-2006, 11:29 PM
An article at MTV.com confirms Chef's dialogue in the episode will indeed be pieced together from old episodes. MTV & CC both being owned by Viacom, I'd say it's reliable info.

As for Season 10 speculation in general, I expect at some point, whether in this first 7-episode run or the second half of the season in the fall, that there will be some sort of development in the life of Mrs. Garrison and the return of Mr. Slave. I also would expect Kenny to have an unmuffled speaking role at least once. They let him speak a couple lines hoodless in a Season 8 episode, and he spent an entire Season 9 episode hoodless (though without speaking). The natural step would be to have him hoodless AND speaking for much of an episode, maybe in which he plays a big role. Other than that it's hard to predict where a SP season will go, cuz it tends to be so topical.

Well aren't you Mr.information? Good work, that'll be the first time Kenny is unhooded since the movie. :thumbsup

Uh, no actually. As I just said, he was hoodless in both Season 8 and Season 9. Briefly in Season 7, too. He only spoke unhooded in the Season 8 episode though. For the record, in Season 7 he was seen unhooded, only from behind, when the boys are changing in the police office locker room in "Li'l Crime Stoppers." In Season 9, he spends almost all of "The Losing Edge" unhooded (with a red baseball cap) as part of the boys' baseball team. In Season 8, "The Jeffersons," the boys use him as a decoy posing as Michael Jackson's son Blanket when they feel the real Blanket is in danger. Kenny wears a mask in that one, but his blonde hair is visible and he speaks a couple of lines... and then Michael Jackson kills him. Sneaky thing there is, they never mention that it was Kenny until the "Oh my God, they killed Kenny" line, so a lot of people watching the first time didn't realize it had been Kenny until he was already dead.

A disaster of epic proportions threatens the town and Stan is to blame in an all-new episode of “South Park” titled "Smug Alert!" premiering Wednesday, March 29 at 10:00 p.m. on Comedy Central.

Towelie’s book is the next big pick in Oprah’s Book Club in an all-new episode of “South Park” titled “A Million Little Fibers” premiering Wednesday, April 19 at 10 p.m. on Comedy Central.

Towelie gets over his drug addiction and writes a moving book about his experiences. From today's Comedy Central Press Release:
The boys' lives are in danger when they're trapped in the Cave of the Winds in an all-new episode of "South Park" premiering Wednesday, April 26 at 10:00 P.M. on Comedy Central

While searching for a way out of the cave, Cartman discovers treasure in an all-new episode of “South Park” titled “Manbearpig” premiering Wednesday, April 26 at 10 p.m. on Comedy Central.
After the cave-in, all the exits are blocked off and Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman are all alone. Only one person knows they’re trapped under all the debris and he’s not telling. Cartman‘s only thought is how to get the treasure out without sharing it with the rest of the boys.

Episode 1007: "Tsst"

When Cartman's mom realizes she can't control her son anymore, she gets help from an expert. The "Dog Whisperer" may have what it takes but Eric Cartman's not going down without a fight.

Lots of Cartman this season, eh? I don't mind--he's the show's antihero and probably my favorite character. Anyway, this mid-season finale sounds fun, and a little reminiscent of the Scott Tenorman episode.

From the sound of the title, it will most likely go in the direction of making fun of the fanbase, which sounds like it has potential. It seems like a big love-letter to World of Warcraft, but then again, Best Friends Forever seemed like a big love-letter to the PSP, and it was the best episode of the year.

That's another thing, it appears Kenny is the one playing World of Warcraft, and previously he was the first of the group to get the PSP, just how poor is his family anymore?

What I'm most curious about is whether Parker and Stone are actually fans of that game and doing a sort of tribute, if this is going to be a total rip on the fans of it, or both. Either way, it looks kind of interesting, though maybe it would be moreso if I'd ever played that game.

I was looking forward to this upcoming episode as well, until I saw the commercial promo on Comedy Central. It shows Cartman about to give a Powerpoint presentation about 9/11 for Show and Tell, and it's obviously going to be a jab at An Inconvenient Truth. That wouldn't be such a bad idea if it weren't for the fact that they've already done an episode this season about Al Gore and his work on global warming. It might be more, but if this turns into a full-out parody of An Inconvenient Truth, I'll be disappointed. There's no reason to make fun of the same target twice in one season.

Maybe I am jumping to conclusions quickly, but the fact that Cartman was using a Powerpoint presentation for Show and Tell and the fact that An Inconvenient Truth has been called basically a Powerpoint presentation movie makes me think there will be a connection. The more I think about it, the more I'm believing they will probably make the 9/11 conspiracy all about circumstantial evidence, just like how it's pretty much just circumstantial evidence that says global warming exists.

I sure hope the regulars are in this episode, because it sounds like they might not be just like they weren't in A Million Little Fibers. Great news about a Halloween show though, there hasn't been one since season 3 (and that one was pretty mediocre).

For anyone not keeping score at home, this is the 150th episode.

I think it sounds promising, but hopefully it won't be another "Million Little Fibers" where a complete lack of the regulars ends up hurting it too much.

Yeah I'm also afraid the four boys won't be in the episode at all. The fact that this hell party seems to take place on earth gives me some hope though.

There's a picture for the episode on SPStudios which features all the boys. Thumbs up.

Satan's dressed up as Britney Spears, haha. Also good to see Tweek in there.

Hmm, by the looks of it Kyle's about to blow out the candles and chant "Bloody Mary." No Kenny though.

New teaser on SPS...heh...nice callback to "Simpsons Did It"...

"Go God Go"

Cartman’s plan to propel himself into the future goes horribly wrong. South Park Elementary faces strong opposition to the topic of evolution being taught to the 4th graders, especially from Ms. Garrison who has to teach it. Eric Cartman can’t be bothered with what’s going on in class. He’s busy manipulating his own personal time-line to align with the precise release date of the newest, hottest game.

"Simpsons did it!" Heh, well, the evolution thing.

"Newest, hottest game"?

Oh please be the Wii...please please please...

Anyway, sounds pretty interesting. Should be fun to compare it to The Simpsons' take earlier this year.

The evolution in schools debate is such a contemporary debate anyway, it's not like The Simpsons' take was especcially original. If anything this sounds a lot more interesting.

Oh, and:

Sounds good, the second half of season ten is coming along really nicely.

Hm, I wonder if this will have anything to do with a future episode:

"Cartman's crank calling himself from the future in an all-new episode of "South Park" on Wednesday, November 8 at 10:00 P.M. on Comedy Central

Cartman's stuck in a future where otters ride ostriches in an all-new "South Park" entitled, "Go God Go XII" premiering Wednesday, November 8 at 10:00 p.m. on Comedy Central.
Last week Eric Cartman froze himself in an attempt to make his three-week wait for a hot, new, gaming device pass quickly. A freak accident landed him over 500 years in the future and now he's stuck there. The future is a tumultuous place with warring factions, angry sea otters and no Nintendo. Will Cartman find a way back to his own time?"

Haha, love the title.

"Stanley's Cup":

Stan Marsh has hit rock bottom. He's got no job, no bicycle and his only way out of a bad situation, is to coach the local pee wee hockey team. Once a hotshot pee wee hockey player himself, Stan Marsh has tried to put those days behind him. But he's still living with the memory of how let his team down when he missed the winning shot in the big game. Now, he's about to find out that being a coach means facing your past. He's determined to show his kids what it's like to be a winner!

So, will this episode be set in the future?
I hope we get to see adult versions of the other boys as well.

Bobo

I don't think so, since South Park Studios says that Stan is a "washed-up fourth grader" or something like that.

Tomacco

Sounds like a direct parody of The Mighty Ducks to me.

I hope it's not overly Stan-centered though, like how "Bloody Mary" ended last year's fall run (ending really early this year, eh?).

It doesnt sound bad, but the plot does not really have the "wow" factor that a series finale should have. Anyways I am still looking forward to it.

hmm.. you're right. Did they start earlier or something because it's the same about of episodes they do every year. Usually it goes past thanksgiving because they usually don't have an episode the night before thanksgiving and finish up the season the next week.

It doesn't sound that interesting, but you never know. But it seems like Go God Go I and II (or II and VII) should have been the season finale.

Well "Make Love Not Warcraft" was really the only one with a WOW factor this season  ........ :(
