Still not sure if it can trump the first game. I was blown away with everything. Seems like 3/28 is still the scheduled release date. Since I have yet to find an xbox 360...the ps2 will keep this one spinning for awhile. Started playing the original a couple of weeks ago just to refresh myself with all the little details.

if this should be in the ps2/psp thread make the move for me. I just figured this game was big enough to have its own discussion.

It doesn't need to be in the PS2 thread. I just talked about it there because my old KH2 thread died a long, long, long time ago and I needed something to keep the PS2 thread alive.

From what I've been hearing, it EASILY trumps the first game. I keep hearing about how epic the final boss is, can't wait. Everything looks like such a step up from the first game. Then again, I've gone through tons and tons and tons and tons...and tons of spoilers.

English voices for new characters sound...okay. I was mostly worried about Mena Suvari and Rachel Leigh Cook playing Aerith and Tifa. Suvari sucks as Aerith. Cook actually sounds okay, though.

The soundtrack sounds decent, too. Most of it is remixes of the old world themes, but some of the new remixes, like Dearly Beloved, kick ultimate amounts of ass. And I still love Passion. I almost wish there was no English version. Then again, Utada wrote Sanctuary first...

I tried to hold off on reading too much about it. that said the last couple of weeks I have been jumping in and reading everything I can find. the thing I am most excited about aside from well everything is that the camera will be corrected. the lock on feature is nice but it would be fun to see who I am trying to hit much of the time.

I have yet to listen to suvari or cook...so I will take you word on their performances. however pretty much everyone cast for the first game didn't seem like a good fit on paper. it all worked out though.

the first game ruled, stoked about this one. i have avoided reading ANY spoilers, and i intend to keep it that way. KH was amazing to me because i had no idea what was going to happen.

as for the voice acting, the first game turned out decent enough, though i did get a little annoyed of haley joel by the end. "i know now that inside every heart there's a light that will never go out!" a little too much, kid.

the greatest moment of my life was beating sephiroth, though i will admit i was upwards of level 80 by the time i could actually manage it.

Never got too far in the original game, mainly because I had to keep borrowing it from my friend. But I always thought it was a really good game. I'll try to pick this up and actually finish it this time

Chicken Little is just a summon, though. I never even used a single summon in KH.

decided to order it online...should arrive the day of or after its release. will be playing chain of memories over the weekend to get even more in the mood.

well never mind it arrived yesterday. have already dropped a little over 7 hours into it. looks better, sounds better, combat is still easy to get into but the camera has been corrected slightly. so much to do. can't wait to get back to it in a couple of hours.

Anyway, I'm most psyched about the Steamboat Willie world. It's like the first stage of Mickey Mania all over again.

Been playing too much...no time for reviewing...right now anyway.

I'll just Sanctuary is sad compared to Passion (not saying it's horrible, but I almost can't believe Hikki actually wrote Sanctuary first, it sounds so empty and just doesn't flow with the way she sings it), the combat system is every bit as wonderful as it was said to be, and I miss playing as Roxas...

Am also annoyed with how some names are pronounced.[/elitest]

Damn, the Roxas part was a letdown. Waaaay too much time spent watching cutscenes and playing lame minigames. The whole thing was just a big drag. Liking it more now that things have switched back to Sora, but still too many cutscenes, not enough exploring/beating down Heartless. Hopefully things will balance out soon. Oh, and it's great that they made the Gummi Ship parts not suck by playing more like Silpheed/Panzer Dragoon, but I'll be damned if I can figure out how to build a Gummi Ship. It's just as confusing as it was in the first game.

Anyway, just finished the Hercules world. Auron kicked ass, as expected. Too bad he didn't stick around...

eh I never got too absorbed with the gummi ship in the first game. that was the only part which felt shoved in. considering how all the worlds are connected in some form...gates or something would have been a bit more epic in my opinion. have loved every second of the new game. it does have more cut scenes but that was to be expected, being square and all. over 12 hours have been pumped in so far.

Being in the UK its not released here yet, and I'm really looking forward to playing it. Sadly I'll probably wait until I get a PS3 and play it on that since my brother took the PS2 down his place. I've never really read too much into the game though. But it does seem like its a good game from the trailers and internet images I've seen.

I must be one of the few people who have never had problems building Gummi Ships. I liked them in the first game only because of the music, anyway. They're much easier this time around. Although some battles are pretty tough.

I'm playing the game on Proud Mode just because everyone insisted that I do it. And because Expert Mode on the first game was kind of a letdown. It's not too bad this time except that Large Bodies suck even more than they usually do. I definitely die more times than I probably would in boss battles, but I gotta admit, I love dying only to be met with the "I won't give up..." option :D

the gummi ship building wasn't the problem...it just seemed tacked on and out of place with the rest of the game.

spent my weekend playing it along with phoenix wright. kh II just keeps making me smile.

I'm about 30 hours in. Played too much this weekend. I guess I have to make another stop at Twilight Town, then it's on to the last world. Going to try and beat Sephiroth before I head there, though, since I don't know if you can go back to him or not. I thought I might have stood a tiny chance against him at level 51, but forget it, he completely raped me.

If you ask me...I think they have something to do with the destiny trinity (a nick name for Sora/Riku/Kairi), because they made this big but subtle deal about how Kairi can use a KB, and the fact this trio is made up of an obviously male figure....a female figure...and one thats sort of inbetween. But as we see in this screenshot, its a guy. Also, the manly one picks up Way to the Dawn, the female one picks up a whitish one you can't see too well, and the other more slender guy picks up Kingdom Key.

Nomura said that they're supposed to be "new" characters, and a lot of people are getting anal over that saying that its definitely not the trinity (yes, because they know exactly whats going to happen already. lol Ahg fans...). And while I don't know either, all of this is just one big hypothetical guess...you have to consider that "new character" can be taken in so many different ways. It wouldn't be the first time Nomura played word games with speculations.
