"Pi carumba! You'll be livin' la vida Mensa with "The Lisa Book"! Whether she's extolling the virtues of vegetarianism and the global village, raising awareness about the world's moral and social ills, or simply playing with her Malibu Stacy doll and dreaming of ponies, Lisa Simpson is a role model for the 21st century! Discover Lisa's lifelong ambitions, gather snappy answers to environmentally insensitive questions, uncover "the Truth" by logging onto her Internet blog, and follow along as she solves a real mystery. From the benefits of being Teacher's Pet to the secret correspondences of Commander-in-chief Lisa's presidential administration, you will explore the inner workings of one of America's most progressive eight-year-old minds. The "Simpsons Library of Wisdom", according to Matt Groening, the creator of "The Simpsons," offers an on-going series of portable and quotable books that will eliminate the need for all religions and philosophies, exalt man's role in the universe, and make the world a better place... sort of. No other television show in history has commented so freely and so humorously on modern times, and there seems to be no end in sight for the sharp satire and pointed parody that "The Simpsons" serves up every night of the week all around the world. Add the newest entries in the series, "Krusty" and "Lisa", to your library and become a sophisticated, well-read person of distinction, join the literati, and become a scholar of Simpsonology."

The Krusty Book
http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/0007234538.02.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

"This is the satirical musings of Matt Groening's. "The Simpsons" will be at the tip of your tongue and a fingertip away with "The Krusty Book" - the newest volume in the critically-acclaimed series, "The Simpsons Library of Wisdom". Comic genius, TV legend, household name, compulsive gambler, tax evader, deadbeat dad, and illiterate - Krusty the Clown is all these things - and more! Look beyond the cream pies and the seltzer bottles and meet the mensch behind the makeup. See what it takes to make the grade as a Krustyco product. Learn how to steal a joke and make it your own. Witness the milestones of Krusty's storied past. And along the way, dodge the paparazzi, avoid the tabloids, and go through Botox and detox with America's most beloved and "Krusty"-est clown. Hey, hey, kids, it's another celebrity-authored bestseller, ghostwritten by someone you never heard of. It's "The Krusty Book"".

Thanks for the info though. Not sure about the Lisa book, but the Krusty book I may pick up

Well, we already knew about the new Library Of Wisdom Books. The information about the Lisa and Krusty volumes being in production has been in Jesse Leon McCann's website (http://hometown.aol.com/jleon2001/myhomepage/) since september of last year. Here's the thread where we discussed that:

Cool, probably get both of those. Hopefully, like with the Ralph and CBG books, there will be no lame and boring chacracter profiles (like in the Homer/Bart books.) Also hoping there'll be a little more variety and it wont just be page after page featuring a pciture with a little number on certain items corresponding to a description of that item. You know what I'm talking about, The Dream Houses and Places to Be. Sick of it.

Great news, I love the Library of Wisdom books, especially considering that if you have a favourite, secondary citizen character who is one of your particular faves, such as Ralph or CBG, you can buy a book thats focused solely on them, in the style of other Simpsons tomes such as Barts Guide to Life, etc.

Wonder who else will be due a Library book dedication - Marge, no doubt, and perhaps Maggie, although as the youngest Simpson could they pad it out long enough?

However she has done some incredible things in her short life...

I have to say, I would get them both. I just like the whole Library of Wisdom book collection.

This is why I'm hoping for a "Reverend Lovejoy book" to be added to the series. It would replace "The guide to Springfield" as my favourite Simpsons book.

And I would always class The Guide To Springfield as my favourite show tie-in book, but Bart Simpsons Guide To Life was one of the earliest books I actually read through as a child, and I thoroughly enjoyed, then and now.

I'm really excited about the Lisa book. Since I already have the other four, once these two books come out, I'll get them. Hopefully we'll get at least three or four character profiles in them. I missed those in the Ralph/ CBG books. And less of those two page spreads with the picture and the numbers, and then little legends at the side telling you what the numbers are labelling. There was too many.

I agree, I really found it a joy to read when I was smaller, and first getting into The Simpsons - perhaps because it was written from a 10 year old boys perspective made me tap into it.

I loved the Adventure of Wiggle Puppy comic strip in Ralphs Library book, as I had thought it would be a cool idea to see a Wiggle Puppy comic drawn in Ralphs style included in a Simpsons Bongo comic or something, ever since seeing This Little Wiggy.

There's something nice about having all of the information of the character's in a small book.

I really want to get the Homer's book the most as I find his side comments really endearing. One thing I don't understand is why they haven't come out with a Marge book. I just find it a bit akward that they have Krusty coming out before Marge.

I'm waiting for Lionel Hutz to come out. :mexican:

The Homer Book is great...there's a lot of pages with things like "A Day in the Life of Homer" where it takes you through an average day. There's also pages with places Homer often visits and the book has labels for the things in that place.

Hi, Jesse McCann here.

Bill has pretty-much responded to all your posts about the Episode Guides, (We had lunch Thursday, and he told me about NHC,) but I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you who wrote and said you liked the "Day in the Life" sequences in the Library of Wisdom books. I wrote them, and I've written two more for the Lisa and Krusty books. I also wrote the Wiggle Puppy story that Alt.N.Ob liked. It's good to get feedback, negative or positive, like Ian and Bill said, but it's great to get compliments like that. So, thanks!

I like the <insert character here> books, they were a pretty creative idea I thought.

Its all mindless stuff, its not going to tell you anything about the character you may not already know or suspect, but still since they're so cheap...its a great thing to have if your a fan. The Ralph and CBG ones in particular I thought were really fun. I loved the "kid drawn" comic in Ralph's about the bazooka and all the glimpses into CBG's younger life.

I think the Lisa one could be great, it just depends on whether they choose to concentrate more on the character herself or the issues she herself protests/looks into all the time.

No they're not fake, they're in the back of the previous Library of Wisdom books (the Lisa and the Krusty book).

You need to learn a thing or two. They are the promotional images; the main things are changed (colour scheme, main character, title), but the words in the border ('Love', etc), are usually not changed until the book itself comes out. And the borders look nothing like those on The Bart Book; look for yourself. Milhouse is on the left hand side of the Bart cover, but doesn't appear on any of the others.

So please, in future, don't jump to conclusions. We know what we're talking about. :)

I remember some titles from those dreams:

Maggie and Geralds guide to Bart (0.0)
The Marge Book
Homer's Book Of Marge
Marge
Marge (Again) (This one had Marge with her hair down)
Golden Homers book
Itchy and Scratchy's animation book
And:
Ralph Wiggum 2

Wonder who else will be due a Library book dedication - Marge, no doubt, and perhaps Maggie, although as the youngest Simpson could they pad it out long enough?
The book about Maggie could be Marge explaining how she gave birth, takes care of Maggie, and talks about Maggie's favorite toys. And of course, it could have Maggie's dream house, which would give us a window into that strange head of hers. Also, Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz could have books, since it's a medium that doesn't require any voice acting. Ooh, and The Book of Kang and Kodos! That would be good.

I just purchased the last 4 "Library of Wisdom" Books that I needed last Saturday. I favor CBG's Book of Pop Culture over all of them - it's like a guide to being the ultimate fanboy - 'Nuff said. :nerdbang: Most of the other books seemingly go one forever. But I did also enjoy a handful of pages in The Bart Book, such as the "Classroom Tactics", "Secret Codes for the Classroom", and "The School Bus" page - I was #5 - "The Audience". Sounds exactly why I chose to sit back there in primary school and high school. The Lisa Book was another great one. But only several pages piqued my interest, likewise The Bart Book - "Lisa's Family Vacation Cringe Index", "My Photo Album", "The Proust Questionnaire", and "Lisa Simpson's Merit Badges For "Real Life" Achievements". The Homer Book is a major drag, The Ralph Wiggum book was a bit dull, it simply showcased his ignorance. And The Krusty Book was mediocre. But I did enjoy the "Li'l Krusty" pages.

And that concludes my review of the books that have been released so far.

Maggie would be an interesting character to cover in a Library of Wisdom book. Though I would see it being covered as Maggie's Baby Book, which we kinda saw in Midnight Towboy, or the previous ideas that Elkwood posted along with possibly a couple of comic strips set in the future like we saw in The Lisa Book.

I wont be surprised much if the Marge book is split in two and longer than the rest and covers both Marge and Maggie, providing content for both characters separately.

ugh i only ever found CBG, homer and ralph's book being sold here. (<ralph's book was my favorite of the three, 'cept for the history pages other wise it was good, the baby photo's were cute i love seeing how ralph spends time with his dad) the homer book was just stuff you know from the show so it wasn't too exciting...
i want the lisa book :( (i'm going to put it next to my ralph book and go 'in your face other ppl!' hahaha heh... :ashamed: )

I wouldn't mind the Burns, Wiggum, and Moe ones myself though it's probably going to take awhile unfortunately.

My only gripe with the earlier Wisdom books is their format is all essentially the same. The lists, the <insert characters' brain> page, and even the setup is all similar. The Homer, Ralph, Bart, and CBG ones are very similar. Like I said on page one I guess it's just mindless fluff so it comes with the territory, though CBGs' was fun and Ralph's is very amusing for the kiddie comic and it even has some of that inbetween the lines stuff with him which is cool.

The Krusty and Lisa ones though are really different from eachother and the ones before. Lisa's was really cool in particular, with two different comics (one is another future story), her opinions on different characters, and even the lists in general are different. Krusty's is very fun too. I hope they make the ones after this more distinct like that.

I had a look at the back at some of the other guides as to what year they come out "Beyond Forever" was 2003 and "One Step" was 2005 so if these two are correct the next guide should be out by the end of 2008.

You're in for luck! I ot both the new ones today and the Ned book is fan-diddly-tastic! It's so funny! Here's the blurb:

Hi-diddly-ho, true believers! Ned Flanders offers up a helping handfull of homespun and home-schooled hints for G-Rated general audiences. Follow the Nedster as he leads you through the thorny debate over Church vs. State, puts the focus on the Flander's family tree, and lists his forbidden words (a.k.a Neddy No-Nos). This gospel of goodness also includes a souvinir map to Praiseland, Ned's Comic Book of virtues, and a sampling of the left-handed luxuries availible only at the Leftorium. Whether you live north, south, east or even west of the Bible belt, good ol' Neddy Doodily will put you on the road to righteousness!

It's the ding-dang-dilliest book of wisdom yet. It's...Flander's Book Of Faith!

Hope that summed it up!

I've been reading The Book of Moe, just picked it up last night. It's pretty good, it goes into all different details of his life, like how he he is on dates, his relationship with Maggie, stuff in his fridge, copies of his poems, and what's in his home and closet. It starts with stuff that was in the show but even goes deeper than that and invents newer things... like there's a picture of Moe's parents in it.
