I am getting tired of seeing famous people die, but realizing that it would be pointless to start a thread because they may not be as well known to everybody. I wanted to start this thread, so if any famous people die that don't really need their own thread, there will be a place for people to comment about them.

Here's the First: Wilson Pickett (http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2006-01-19-pickett-obit_x.htm?csp=27)

Great soul singer. R.I.P.

I am getting tired of seeing famous people die...

Same here. This along with Lou Rawls' passing already brings 2006 onto a shaky start. :(

I don't know if we, as a nation, can afford to lose any more famous people.

Good thread idea. I remember like a year ago and half of the off topic forum was filled with RIP's for every obscure quasi celeb. Like: RIP - The guy who played extra #8657 in Titanic :(

sean penn.

wait, it probably deserves a thread.

It was Chris Penn, guy. And he got a thread in Media.

Wasteland
01-28-2006, 09:46 PM
He was well known to this forum as Nice Guy Eddie, so I saw no need to put him here. Just as well, by the time I had time to get on here, a thread had been started. But this thread should stay as the place for obscure and cult figures.

Ex:
Robin Williams=Own thread
Treat Williams=Here
Gerald Ford (you know it will happen soon)=Own thread
Former GA Senator Max Cleland=Here

I think that should help clear it up.

By the way, new one:Arthur Bloom (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060128/ap_en_tv/obit_bloom)

Hmmm...says here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H._A._Rey) he's been dead since 1977, and his partner and wife since 1996. Where did you hear this?

DotheBartman

Another guy worked with the wife for a while on more books, and the Disney Channel tv series that ran for a while. Here's the info:

As I recall, the biggest celebrity death year of this decade was 2003.
It was like every single day in September 2003 someone famous died.

At the end of either February or March, I will do a list of who had died so far this year, and do a list either every two to three months of who has died during the time between the last list and the date I post.

And on January 2, 2007, I will make a whole list of all who have died in 2006.
