I hope that The View joke was carried over by Alex Borstein and nto just stolen outright from MadTV.

It was a fairly terrible episode anyway. I didn't like it, 80 percent of the episode was cutaways and references to movies & celebs; basically an episode based on Happy Days, and the Madonna joke was ridiculously bad.

okay episode. pretty much a typical episode from this season: a few awesome jokes that had me rolling (such as "all rise, now sit on it", the view reference [thx spooner], and lumbergh's appearance), and quite a few forgettable moments too. pretty much an average episode. 3/5

I like the way the characterized Francis here. They're bringing dimensions to at least some of the returning characters.

I could go on and on about the funny jokes here, but one joke I especially liked was the pinball one. It had been YEARS since I saw the Sesame Street sgement, and I was waiting for Family Guy to make a joke about it. Wish granted.

4/5

And maybe it's me, but the end credits made it feel like a Scully-era Simpsons episode (in a good way).

OLD SESAME STREET PINBALL SONG! I LOVE IT.

Also laughed out loud at the Jesus Quantum Leap joke and Stewie's request not to have a black doctor, only for him to get one.

Great stuff. If not for a few lame out of place cutaway gags with the "than the time when" setup, this would have been a 5/5

Was there an American Dad tonight? South Park Krew's downloads section has a link to a torrent for it, which suggests there was, but there's no thread for it on here. I would start the thread myself but I don't know for sure which episode it was.

I'm not too sure if Tomacco saw the episode but I'm guessing he wasn't too impressed with yet another appearance from the vaudeville/tumbler men.

Dear Seth McFarlane:
THE VAUDEVILLE GUYS ARE NOT FUNNY!

Sincerely, General GK

Now that I've got that out of my system, I have to say that despite a few jokes that weren't funny and went on too long(Peter, Francis, and Brian discussing Madonna for one), this was a pretty good episode. I can't remember exactly what jokes I liked the most, but it was a solid 4/5...

I thought it was very good, though some jokes were overly long (e.g. the Madonna discussion at the end). Nevertheless, 4/5

Right-o. Although I'm accustomed to seeing them now so I don't groan anymore when they show up. I just wait for the piano man to play it to the commercial break.

Anyways, I did enjoy this episode. Story was nothing to write home about, and the subject matter has been tackeld better before by other shows, but the gags were decent enough, like the Sesam Street "12"" bit, the Office Space gag, and others.

OLD SESAME STREET PINBALL SONG! I LOVE IT.My favorite gag. So awesome.

Anyway, enjoyable episode. I tuned in at the scene with Aquaman. Was that the beginning? The opening credits were still going.

Yeah I really enjoyed the episode - loads of laughs and while many will hate the fact he punched Meg, Peter on steroids was hilarious in my mind. (That's the third time Peter has taken some substance with hilarious consequences along with "Lets Go To The Hop" and "Model Misbehaviour.")

I remember the Sesame Steet 12 song so luckily it didn't fly over my head - 4/5.

Um...yeah...so...um...yeah, that was like...well...whats the word?...it was ok?...yeah i'm gonna go with ok...that was ok...yeah ok. So...um...is this funny if I type like this...for um...like 10 minutes...cos...yeah family guy today seems to think this kind of crap is funny...if you talk like...you know this...for...for...10 minutes...10 mintes?...probably not that much but...WELL YOU GET THE IDEA!

I am so sick of this joke in the show, I mean sometimes its funny to hear people on the TV talk like real people for a little while, but why do they keep doing this on every show, have they forgotten how to read a script?! I am really sick of hearing the same Seth stock voice doing this tired routine.

As for the episode itself I give it a 3/5, average. It was nice to see Peters father again (although I though his voice was annoying this time), and the whole happy day thing was not without its laughs, but in comparison with this weeks AD and The Simpson's this episode sucked.

The new episodes are really starting to get on my nerves with the "um..er" humor and the long drawn out Unfunny jokes. I really wish they would cut down some of there stuff and go back to the old snappy timing the old episodes had, hell even the earlier season 4 episodes were good enough.

maybe I need to see it again, but my first impression was that it was another ho-hum episode. Y'know, I caught several season 1-3 episodes over the weekend, and there were just as many cutaway gags then as there are now....the difference being, the older episodes had a higher level of quality jokes & snappier dialogue between Cutaway Gag A and Cutaway Gag B. Nowadays you can see 'em coming from a mile away, and it's almost like "OK, we know, get to the freaking cutaway already." If it wasn't for the hilarious Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story DVD, I'd have lost hope for good...that DVD gives me hope that there's still something in the tank...

Another hilarious episode, some jokes fell flat but no show is perfect. Some notable gags:
- Lumberg
- Kobe line
- Face/off
- Paula Abdul

Exactly, they could of done the same joke without all that worthless, time eating up, banter. It was more bearable because it only lasted a little while, but some of the other stuff such as Bin lardens bloopers and the "climatic" end to this drawn out episode, Madonna bitching is just boring to watch. It seems like they have a sentence in the script saying "peter and others talk" and they just ramble on about nothing into the microphone and do the animation to it without cutting a single second of recording.

They might as well just take some recording equipment down to the local Pub, record a bunch of drunks, and animate to that. Hell that would probably be funnier.

I agree. Although the Jaws thing made me laugh, mostly because it looked funny. A lot of the side male characters sound like they're gay, though.

This was one of the better recent Family Guy episodes. Maybe I'm just saying that because I love all the Happy Days stuff (Fonzie fixing Mr. C. in particular), although for the end credits they should've used the more familiar Happy Days theme.

I loved the ending to that cutaway - *chomp with no sound effect* "mmm, yummy" or something. I found it hilarious with the voice and the fact that there was no sound effect.

I saw this on tape with a friend yesterday. I wanted to kill him for making me watch it. What's really irritating is that Seth McFarlane probably thinks he's a genius when coming up with the Madonna gag and other anti-comedic gags like this. I'm no fan of Family Guy but this episode is the worst (or at least most difficult-to-watch) 30 minutes of any show I've ever seen :(

Just saw this episode for the first time last week. I really enjoyed this one, some truly laugh-out-loud jokes, with a heap of stupidity thrown in for good measure. But the part that truly shone was the sesame street "12" song. That had me in stitches, its been at least ten years since i've seen that bit on sesame street. So many childhood memories came floating back...

5/5!
