Tomorrow ist Towel Day! don't forget your Towels ;)

Interactivity. Many-to-many communications. Pervasive networking. These are cumbersome new terms for elements in our lives so fundamental that, before we lost them, we didn’t even know to have names for them. D.N.Adams 1999

Did south park actually start this holiday?

Ummm...no...probably the book "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" and its author Douglas Adams did, since that is the subject of the link on the first post....

Did no one click the freaking link? Towel Day isn't in celebration of towels. It's in memory of Douglas Adams. The point is to carry a towel with you all day in his honor, a la Ford Prefect and Arthur Dent.

"So people complain that there’s a lot of rubbish online, or that it’s dominated by Americans, or that you can’t necessarily trust what you read on the web. Imagine trying to apply any of those criticisms to what you hear on the telephone. Of course you can’t ‘trust’ what people tell you on the web anymore than you can ‘trust’ what people tell you on megaphones, postcards or in restaurants." I actually just got my copy of the Ultimate Guide back recently and have been giving it yet another read-through. I'd rather not get stared at at the office, so I'll just be carrying a towel in spirit.

Considering the number of Douglas Adams fans we've got, I'd say 25 is about right.
