I'm pretty proud that I've almost entirely elminated fast food from my diet... I used to be extremely hooked and then I just quit cold turkey for 2 months straight and had no real desire to pick it back up.

Now occasionally after a night of going out if me and my buddies have the munchies at 2:30am nothing satisfies like Jack in the Box. Greasy greasy food to help prevent the next-day hangover.

I also grab some Wendy's if I'm in a bind time-wise, I LOVE the spicy chicken sandwich. It's the only bit of fast food I really like and will eat anytime... so I limit myself on that one.

Question for people on the West Coast. When I was in California a couple years ago, they had a place called Carl Jr.'s with the Hardee's (http://www.goingfaster.com/darkthoughts/hardees.jpg) logo. Are they two seperate chains owned by the same person or is that what they call it over there?

I know of at least one of those hybrid places here. Ate there not long ago. It was really weird seeing a group of people eating pizza, burros and chicken at the same table in the same joint...

Not a bad idea though for someone who wants variety.

I don't think anything beats that 99 cent menu wendy's has. the late night drive thru used to be so convenient until the one in my town decided to discontinue it (not sure if it's a chain-wide thing or just my local one).

Honorable mention: Jack in the crack for it's 5 am success and subway for the healthy success.

Also, anyone near one should try a JBX. It's like a sophisticated jack in the box, whatever that is.

I'm more than aware thanks to the indiana/CA connection. if i remember far back enough, the star logo was Carls, later given to hardees. why they didn't switch the name is probably due to branding issues. they are nearly identical, except I believe they tried some ginorhuge heart attack burger at a hardees a fe wmonths back, but not at carls.

I try to avoid Fast Food if I can. I like In-and-out though. When it comes to taste itself I'm not that picky, although I've always had sort of a weariness to Arby's. I'm glad I'm apparently not the only one.

There's this famous hot dog stand in LA called Pinks that serves obsenely good Hot Dogs. I know its not technically fast food, and you can't really take it out of a drive through but considering how fast real Ramen is made, I think its worth a note. I love Ramen.

The place pretty much hasn't changed since the 50's. There is no "have it your way"... there's just: "Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Special & Deluxe" ranging from $1.15 for the basic and $2.20 for the Deluxe. Want ketchup? That'll be $0.05.

Awesome skin-on fries & great shakes. It is some of the best after-drinking food (they close at like 2am with the bars tho so you have to get out of the bars a little early) and great greasy hang over food.
