Well, if you weren't one of the many people who for some mysterious reason signed up to a Simpsons discussion board so they could discuss everything but the Simpsons, you would know me.

i know you, and i don't know why it wouldn't surprise me. as for not discussing the simpsons...who gives a fuck? the board has huge sections of it devoted to things not about the simpsons and most of the best conversation takes place in media discussion, off topic, and duff stadium. it's all about finding people and topics that you relate to and talking to them. not about strictly adhering to the topic that the board was originally created.

That feels like going to a Major League Baseball game not to watch the game being played, but only because you're hungry for a hot dog. Off-topic discussion is fine (half of my own posts or maybe even more are non-Simpsons-related), but it makes not the least bit of sense for people to register for Simpsons discussion and talk only about Tarantino or The Decemberists or the latest silly thing a religious group did this week, to the complete exclusion of the actual topic of the boards. I wonder, do they also sign up for Twilight Zone fan forums and discuss nothing there but The Simpsons? I'm not really annoyed by most of them, some of them are cool and interesting people whom I'm glad to have met, but their reason for being here in the first place just puzzles me.

But then maybe I was misled by the big picture of Homer Simpson at the top of the screen, right next to all the links to Simpsons fansites, and the slogan "Your daily dose of Simpsons discussion since 2001."

It shouldn't matter why people join--most of them join for Simpsons discussion but venture off into the off topic forums because they'd like to talk about other things with Simpsons fans. This is a Simpsons fan forum, and the majority of us are Simpsons fans, and that's pretty much all that really needs to matter, even if don't talk about the show on the board or watch the new episodes. Simpsons discussion is advertised on the forum's default logo, and it's still our main selling point. The Simpsons forums are the only forums lurkers can see before they can register.

Those that might not watch or care about The Simpsons anymore probably worked on Simpsons websites quite a while ago but still stick around the Simpsons web community because they know who they like to talk to. Nothing wrong with that, either.

I just want to clear that up because I don't think anyone should be criticizing anyone's reason that they joined. We're happy to have everyone and anyone here that we want (except Freakzilla, Jeff and Akbar).

Now get back to posting what you sound like, people.

I recorded myself singing the portion of Stairway To Heaven with the backwards satanic messages and reversed it, to see if it would have the same effect on my voice. You can sort of make it out, but it sounds really odd. Here are the reverse lyrics that you can follow along with:
