Quiet glory hunter, keep you eyes on the table. You live in london too, why not support a local team?
Santas li'l yelper

I don't live in London. I live in an undiscloved locaction in the south of England. My location says :"In London with almost no crime.I wish" because i love London but i wouldn't really live there 'cause the crime is so high. Hence the "I wish" part.
I came from hear Manchester and have been supporting Manchester United since before i can remember!

???????????Right... Can't we talk about football not how you spell it the wrong way. Who thinks Arsenal we get further than Manu in the F.A cup or the champions leuge. I think Manu will get to the quarters in the Cahmps leauge, maybe semis. :)
Dont have a fave fottball team but my fave football team is Liverpool. Arsenal will win the champions league i reckon.

I'd love it if Man U came from no where and won the title, it would actually make the Premiership exciting. I don't think Liverpool have a hope in winning the leauge, they remind of Chelsea, have the potentional but paper teams win paper cups. ;)
Arsenal are the only other real rivals. Newcastle United, Everton and teams like them will just fade into the top 7 somewhere....
Oh and BTW I'm a villa fan.

11-27-2002, 11:39 AM
FC Basle, what a match. They went 1-0 up after 31 seconds, what a fast start! After more than an hour Van Nistelrooy scores and the next minute he has a tight angle shot and scores again. 2-1 to Manu. 5 mins later Scholes (i think) scores and we win 3-1. A great start to the second phase of the competition! :):):)

Man U have started that slow descent that all great teams go through, they can't stay great forever. They are slowly getting worse and worse.
If Chelsea or Liverpool are to win the Premier, they must win more games.Go Chelsea! (I support them) :)
Santas li'l yelper

I'm American, so I really don't support any English sides that much, but I really enjoy watching games when there on over here. My favorite team I guess is DC United which is the Washington D.C. based team that Gascoigne was being rumoured to go to.
I don't know how how many of you read 4-4-2, but did anyone read the article on American football in the November? I thought that it was very funny, and I'm a pretty big American football fan.

Also on the same night as that match, one Ricardo Fuller's goal for Preston against Leicester (2-0 to P) was almost identical to Van Nistelrooy's!
Liverpool Vs ManU - I hope Man U win this one. I also hope my team Villa beat Arsenal to make things more exciting at the top AND get a few points. That will show those fools down at college who think Villa are going to get relegated.

What is your obsession in pointing out how little Americans know about soccer? When you first got here, you tried to show how little we knew about it by showing a picture of Nobby Stiles, and saying that it would take 100 replies for us to get it. What'd it take, 11? Why wouldn't have I understood it if I was an American?

What are your best goals ever on Pro Evolution Soccer?
Mine must be when I was England and I was playing against France. It was a difficulty level of three stars. The ball rolled freely to Paul Scholes on the halfway line. I took a thundering shot and it sailed over Barthez's head and bounced off the crossbar into the net. 8-)
Whats yours?
not my best goal, but was the first good goal i've scored:
playing as england. cross in the ball. michael owen heads it down, but away from goal. he then does a crazy spin and volleys the ball. sails into the top right corner.
i hope you understand what i mean :/

I want to play Pro Evolution soccer, it sounds great and realistic where you can score from the halfway line, although that happens rarely in club or international football. The last time i remember that happeneing was by David Beckham in 1995 or 1996 when we were playing Wimbledon and the goalie was off his line and the rest, as they say, is history:)

Veron is a good player, he's just not a good fit for the EPL. The EPL is very fast paced, and I don't think he fits in it very well. He was pretty dominant when he played for Lazio.
exactly, veron is a world class footballer, but he is having a very tough time adapting to the pace of the premiership. who knows if he will ever adapt. the majority of his good games happen in the champions league, it's not a coincidence.

Manu probably won't win the worthington cup, but they are in pretty good form at the moment so i wouldn't say that they wouldn't! Liverpool are probably more likely to win in the fact that they win more of the semi-minor competitions(Worthington isn't on the big stage like champs. leauge and F.A cup and the premiership).

It should be more celebrated as a cup, but most teams shrug it off as a Mickey-Mouse competition. Shame Spurs are out of it, because they are usually serious contenders. But then they had to go and lose to Burnley Town of all teams.....;-/
the worthington cup is a joke. they should make a british cup (ie include scottish teams), increase the prize money and give the winners a spot in the uefa cup again. although saying that, the uefa cup is a joke nowadays as well.

The winners of the League cup (Currently known as the Worthington Cup) do get a place in the UEFA cup.
Also considering the UEFA cup is made of Europes nearly elite teams, with the real elite in the Champion's League, it's not that bad.
Although the League Cup as a British cup could work, but you would also have to abolish the Scottish League cup, which is more of a joke than the League cup.
I don't think anyone would be really bothered who wins the League cup, unless it was Sheffield United.

yeah, i thought that they had reinstated the place, but i wasn't too sure.
the uefa cup is a complete joke nowadays. for one thing, its a consolation prize for not qualifying for the second round of the champions league.
i don't understand why they messed around with all the european cups. what was wrong with the (real) champions league, the uefa cup and the cup winners cup?

Well they are going to get rid of the second group stages of the C League to cut down the matches.
The Cup Winners Cup was viewed was a confusing competition because there was already something called the UEFA cup. The main reason why they had a Cup Winners cup was that teams who win the FA Cup, or the equivalent in there country, would participate in them, but it was viewed unnecessary.
To make the Champion's League worthwhile they should only include to the top 2 teams from each country.
With the Premiership, teams actually try to win the domestic League, whereas most European teams only concentrate on the Champions League, and say in Spain and Italy you can finish 4th and still get into the CLeauge, Real Madrid, Barcelona have done that many times!

So Arsenal and Chelsea won, Manu to play on Sunday,
1st: Arseanl
2nd: Chelsea(How?!?!?!)
3rd: Manchester United
they have scrapped the plans to get rid of the second group stages, i believe.
so you think it is a good thing that teams can qualify for the champions league without ever being champions of their league?
the cups winners cup was for the winners of the countries main cup. the uefa cup was for the best of the rest. which team got a place in the uefa cup was upto that country's fa.

because he likes to complain. heh. he did go on to say that we could've defended the corner and then the cross.
but the point is, the referee couldn't be certain whether or not that was a corner and so shouldn't have given it.

Arsenal are much worse in europe.....actually. Record is awful.
Right from the start, the atmosphere was bad. Celtic shouldn't even be singing "You'll never walk alone" for christs sakes! But there ws nothing there. And even though Liverpool played okay they lost. I'm not too bothered, but this has fuelled my hate for Celtic even more.
what?
i thought it was a good idea mixing the supporters together - the clubs are twinned after all, i believe. its also been debated many times that celtic supporters adopted the "you'll never walk alone" song before liverpool supporters - whether this is actually true, i'm not sure. however, celtic fans have sung the song just as long as the scousers have.

Arsenal were lucky to beat Sheff Utd also. If they have a bad day on cup fianl day then you never know. Southampton are in Europe next season as Arsenal will qualify for the champions league.
i wouldn't say arsenal were lucky to beat sheffield utd - more lucky to beat them 1-0 in proper time. arsenal finally started to play really well in the final ten minutes, and if it were to have gone to extra time, i don't think sheff utd could have continued to hold arsenal.

The result was out of their hands, seeing as Bolton Wanderers beat Middlesbrough. Tottenham finished the season disgracefully and diabolically. But hey, we went out with a bang, right?
